uk.ign.com/articles/2019/11/17/lou-ferrigno-disappointed-with-hulk-in-avengers-endgame-mark-ruffalo-bruce-banner-disneyWhile speaking at Canada’s Hamilton Comic Con (as reported by ComicBook.com), Ferrigno took umbrage with the way Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner, in the film, had merged his mind with Hulk's body. Though it was the film's take on Professor Hulk from the comics, Ferrigno felt it took away the monster aspect of Hulk that he felt was important. “What’s happening is that the first two Hulk movies, the CGI was improving, but the last one, Endgame, I was disappointed," Ferrigno said. "Because the Hulk needs to be hideous, he needs to be a creature." “You see in Endgame, Mark Ruffalo —- I think it has a lot to do with him and Disney -— I didn’t like the way it portrayed [Hulk]. It took away that beauty, that quality of the Hulk. That’s why a lot of people liked the [original Hulk] series.” Ferrigno also felt Avengers: Endgame was too “extreme with the spaceships, the shooting, the outer space.” “We need good stories," he added. "Good elements, good messages about life. Because when you see the [original Hulk] series, even like The Twilight Zone, the original Twilight Zone, you learn something from every episode."

I see where he's coming from. It didn't really bother me, but I hope we get to see the proper Hulk in a future film.

Don't think I've met anyone who was actually impressed with Endgame Hulk.

Don't think I've met anyone who was actually impressed with Endgame Hulk. I'm sure ArArArchStanton thought it was the best interpretation yet.

Don't think I've met anyone who was actually impressed with Endgame Hulk. Meh, I'm fine with it. His 1-1 with Ancient One is great, & monster Hulk/Banner would not work well at all there. As it is, the Infinity Saga was greater than the sum of its parts. Hulk as chaos outcast wouldn't fit. Besides, they at least made it gradual enough from Ragnarok & IW.

So you think that Banner not being able to transform into the Hulk in IW and then getting Banner-Hulk in Endgame was gradual?

He is spot on. Hulk was a huge disappointment and pretty much just a neutered pussy that couldn't get angry. Just worthless.

I don't love the Kiddie visual effects for Thor especially in that Thor movie.

No, but Hulk being scared into the ground by Thanos… this became more about Banner & Hulk uniting... so if it's more on the laboratory science guy side, I'm fine with it. Besides, Hulk doesn't do much for me otherwise. I don't even know how Hulk works in EG other than token smashing at the end.

In Infinity War, Banner says to Hulk "Hulk, we got a lot to figure out, pal." Then they skip to 5 years later and they figure it out in that time. I mean, they even say it in the movie. It's not like they leave it up to the audience's imagination. They actually tell you what happened in those 5 years.

That doesn't mean it was gradual though. There was nothing gradual about it.

That doesn't mean it was gradual though. There was nothing gradual about it. Okay, how about this. The 1st time we see the Hulk, he is pretty much uncontrollable (Incredible Hulk). The next time there is some control issues because of an outside influence (Loki), but we see that Banner has a handle on being able to turn into the Hulk at will (Avengers). Then we see that they have figured a way to bring Banner back (AoU). By Ragnarok, we see that, because he has been living as the Hulk for 2 years, Hulk's mental state has aged by that number of years (toddler). No change in Infinity War. By Endgame, Banner and Hulk have come to a type of peace agreement where they have merged into one person. An extroverted Banner. Seems pretty gradual from the beginning to Endgame.
