Apparently Tarantino's spin-off is still in the works.

so it will be utter trash like Legion/Lucy InThe Sky or genius like Fargo.
Sucks the first female director for a Trek film won't happen now.

Ignorant, low hanging fuckwits like you will be confused and utterly lost, but you don't matter. People with taste and intelligence will appreciate his efforts.

It's my understanding Fargo gets as much acclaim as Legion did. Besides, to each his own right?

Stick to surface level bullshit that your childlike mind can grasp. Leave adult material to the rest of us.

Legion had under a million weekly viewers , not a mainstream show.

Leave adult material to the rest of us. maybe you should respect opinions, I don't respect the opinions of idiots who can't think and can't articulate what shallow thoughts they have. Yes, it has already been established that as one of our resident simpletons obsessed with superficial celebrity culture and nothing else, you never had the capacity for grasping what Legion was about. This show was never for you, and never for the general population. It was for people who think and demand imagination and intellectual depth. It deliberately excluded lightweights like you.
Stick to subjects you have the capacity for grasping, like the latest news from Entertainment Tonight.
That's your wheelhouse. Thinking, not so much.

Very cool and am intrigued by this. Loved Season 1 & 2 of Legion (great trippy story telling by Hawley) but man , was Season 3 a huge disappointment imo. Fargo is pretty cool too so Hawley is definitely an interesting choice. .
And unlike the new Star Wars films, the main new cast of the new Star Trek characters are actually solid/good actors in those films. Especially Pine, Urban, Quinto and Saldana. They all have great chemistry that feels so natural and not forced like the new SW characters.

Surprising they're still making these films, considering Beyond didn't do that well at the Box Office and I thought Pine was done with these films because he wanted more money - so he'll be back after all?

I have no idea how reliable IMDb is these days, but I went over there and looked up Star Trek 4--and of course first got The Voyage Home --but then I found this: Untitled Star Trek Sequel Directed by Noah Hawley Writing Credits (in alphabetical order) Noah Hawley Patrick McKay ... (written by) John D. Payne ... (written by) Gene Roddenberry ... (based upon "Star Trek" created by) Cast Zoe Saldana ... Lieutenant Uhura (rumored) Karl Urban ... Doctor 'Bones' McCoy (rumored) Simon Pegg ... Montgomery 'Scotty' Scott (rumored) Zachary Quinto ... Spock Danai Gurira ... (rumored) John Cho ... Sulu I'm sorry (very sorry) to say, I don't see any mention of Chris Pine. EDIT: I just now clicked on Politicidal 's link. Okay, so evidently IMDb hasn't recently updated the page I copied. Maybe this means that I won't Pine for Chris in vain...

OK, a Star Trek movie without Captain Kirk. I'm worried Noah Hawley will write his script, it'll be given to Pine and he'll turn the film down again.

That's kind of too bad since the best thing about the last three was the cast, but I'm okay with it. The thing that makes me the happiest is that he's said he'll be going back to the roots of what made the TV show so great, which is an emphasis on ideas over action. That's what I've been waiting for!
