Beautiful noise. Greatly recommended. Heard Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth called them one of the greatest outfits to ever strap on instruments and play.

Great band, but can't compare to Galaxie. Think I slightly prefer Damon & Naomi.

Great band, but can't compare to Galaxie. Think I slightly prefer Damon & Naomi. Still great though. Especially when you consider what's out there.

Yep, they're probably the band I'm always going to most unfairly misjudge/critique, because I'll always compare them to Galaxie. I was pretty disappointed when I first heard Lunapark, but it's grown on me. Nice, mellow indie-rock and definitely better than a lot of other stuff from the era, as are all their albums. Dean & Britta's stuff is very cool too. They do a great cover of Gainsbourg's "Bonnie & Clyde". Unfortunately the studio version doesn't seem to be up on YT anymore

As it is, I'm hearing Noah Baumbach's new motion picture is his best yet, with Oscar calibre work from Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver, the former possibly channeling Jennifer Jason Leigh (is Driver Baumbach? Mm.). Exciting times. Thanks again.

I'm not one for light male vocals or alternative, but I love this band. Galaxie 500 is just ok.

Have always loved Luna. They get a bum rap from being an offshoot of an iconic band, but Luna were their own, wonderful thing, taking a bit of air out of Galaxie and grounding the guitar stylings of Wareham to great effect... Their offshoot, Dean & Britta, is intimate, nighttime lounge music, beautiful and ethereal
