There is a thick underline that appears in replies lately. It wasn't there before.

Oh. lol heeeeey , if that's what you're talking about, it's called a horizontal rule and can be placed in posts by clicking this button: Or by typing the code directly: [hr]

I just know that it is the only thing that I have seen that I can think of that comes close to what is being described... And yes, I too, have only started seeing it used recently... And so, I put two-and-two together, and guessed at what the issue might be... ...And I decided to have a little fun with that feature... LOL! ...while hoping that my example might be confirmed as the problem. Although there are other ways to to intentionally create "LINES"... I do hope that it isn't some kind of a glitch, instead.

I don't know if that's what it is but I'll check next time.I don't know why it would be there if I didn't use that feature.

Here it is without me even being signed in: If that's a capture of this post, then I don't know what's causing it. Even stranger is the line below the post, especially considering it's the last post in the thread. What I can say, however, is that it looks fine to me; there are no lines in that post and nothing in the raw text that would put them there. So my guess is that the problem is on your end. Does it happen with other browsers or devices? Does it matter if you're in desktop mode or mobile version? Is it only in quoted replies? Try the usual steps: Clear cache, reboot, etc. Also interesting is the screenshot itself. Here's what I see: Spot the differences? (Other than the lines.)

I have no idea what's causing that. If no one else is seeing it, it must be my laptop. I don't think I've seen it on other forums though.
