Scorsese's latest is slated for Netflix release on Wednesday. De Niro, Pacino, Pesci star. Will you be watching? No need to answer that, obviously the answer is yes. How much are you anticipating this one? Perhaps (at all, as well) you've been fortunate enough to see it already on the big screen in select theaters? When it hits, post your thoughts.

I’m sure it’ll be a good, well-acted movie, but how many ways are there for Scorsese to make a mobster movie?

PS. This is a thread to discuss Scorsese's "The Irishman", NOT Larry Crowne.

Looking forward to it. Glad it’s on Netflix, at 3 1/2 hours it’s a doozy.

Meh.
He's kind of already told this tale in a couple of other movies, with the same actors no less. And there's already been a pretty good movie made about Jimmy Hoffa.
I'm sure there will be some thrilling scenes, with some good doses of Stones, Clapton, and other classic rock icons. Just feels like a "been there, done that" kind of feel to it.
I have heard that the sight of Deniro and Pesci throwing temper tantrums in their 70's is pretty unintentionally funny. Aren't some of these guys wearing diapers now, Scorcese included?

I won't be watching.
I only care for horror films, and children's films about animals.

Missed in my theater, though that might pohave been for the best since most people are likely to watch this as if it's a miniseries, considering the length.
He hasn't done this kind of thing in a while, so I'm curious to see how Scorsese returns to this sub genre. The reviews have largely been very positive, and they've mostly said that it's different and a bit quieter and more 'mature' than his earlier crime films.
Really, the only trepidation for is with the de-aging. I've never seen those sorts CGI faces that don't look weird and awkward.

I'm in. 3 1/2 hours eh? Let's hope it's not a drawn out boring yawnfest snoozer like Once Upon A Time in America. Brilliant soundtrack by Ennio Morricone with an All-Star cast - the film itself was like watching a Bengals/Dolphins game

Children's films about animals are often way more traumatic than horror films though... Try and watch Land Before Time, and don't cry when Littlefoot's mum dies. Bet you can't, it's impossible.

I heard from some people I trust that it is the best film in a long time and that the 3 1/2 hour run time flies by. It is supposedly on par with his other gangster films, which I find hard to believe. Needless to say Scorsese is my favorite Director of all time and I have been counting down to this.

I thought Catholics believed dinosaurs to be fictional, fantasy creatures.

Mother Church teaches evolution and science you know. You are mistaking us for fundamentalist protestants. They think the Earth is only 6,000 years old, and they take the old testament literally, except the parts they don't like. They are fecking eejits.

Love it already - about an hour in - Frank Sheeran (DeNiro) was born in a very tough run down town called 'Darby' right outside of Southwest Philly - old Philly Mob Boss Angelo Bruno is played by Harvey Keitel
