Another stupid rumor started going around recently that there were test screenings of tRoS, and that Disney was panicking because the audiences hated it. Then I saw a quote from J.J. (didn't get the link, sure it's not hard to find) that there were no test screenings.

You understand JJ is a renowned liar right? He lies and spins stuff all the time, his word is meaningless, that being said I hope the Disney in a panic, SW in trouble again stuff is just bullshit, if this is the end of the Skywalker saga, which is hard to believe also given the source , but if it is it deserves to go out strong with a bang not a wimper or worse yet a farting corpse.

no sw film has ever been test screened. ever. I didn't think so. I'd never heard of a test screening for a SW movie until this rumor started popping up on the web.

no sw film has ever been test screened. ever. False. Lucas showed '77 to Francis Ford Coppola, John Milius, Brian De Palma, Steven Spielberg, Paul Schrader, and then made changes based on their feedback.

Disney has no money problems. It is IMPOSSIBLE for them to panic about anything except perhaps not having enough African-American voice actors in their next cartoon.
Executive 1: "We've used up all the famous ones--oh! If Only Bill Cosby hadn't got in trouble."
Executive 2: "Prison didn't stop us from hiring Victor Salva."
Executive 1: "You're right! Let's call OJ!"

Literally every big movie has this rumor. The Irishman, The Last Jedi, BvS, Justice League, Rogue One, Dunkirk, The Force Awakens, Aquaman, etc etc etc. It’s a tradition at this point.
And it’s not just haters that fell for it. I was told this rumor by my cousin, who loved both TFA and TLJ and is extremely excited for TRoS.
