Yes, I also check expiration dates. I had bad food poisoning when I was a young woman so I've become very anal about checking out food before I buy it.

I am w/wicked k on this topic. I always check "use by and "expiration dates" and I will not purchase any boxed food that has been partially opened.

Most definitely! Along with making sure none of the cans we buy has dents in them.

I definitely check lids on glass jars, and I'm with you on dented cans, although if it's a "small" dent, I'll let it pass. Bigger dents (and I can't exactly tell you where the cutoff line is, lol) are a deal-breaker: too much dent, I don't buy it.
