Heh, thanks. I was writing furiously so that I wouldn’t forget any of it. Unlike many of my dreams, this one wasn’t too mystifying: I went to the movies this past weekend, though to see Knives Out, not the Shining sequel.
How was "KNIVES OUT" ?
I know that it has a Good Cast and was made by the same guy who made "THE LAST JEDI" (Rian Johnson).
I’m trying to get my thoughts together on it to write some fuller comments, but basically I loved it. Extremely funny, great acting, great cast. First-class mystery that kept me on my toes, with the unusual structuring creating key surprises. Probably the best Johnson movie I’ve seen.

Something else I should probably note is that I often have dreams set in imaginary places—they’re not recurring dreams, though, but different dreams set in the same unreal locations. At least I guess they’re unreal, or at least they’re conflations of several different real places; if they’re real and not conflated, I certainly don’t consciously remember them.
One of them is a movie theater, also a small independent theater—not the same one as the Shining theater. (There’s a real-life theater near me I think that one was based on; for this one I have no idea). There are three actual “theaters” in it, i.e, the rare three different movies playing in different rooms. I always walk down an outdoor staircase to get to the front of the building.
There’s always at least one movie playing, but I nearly always stay in the lobby and don’t actually see the movie. “Nearly always” because I have gone in at least once—always into the theater furthermost on the right.
I’m never in there to watch the movie, though—there’s always some other reason, but that reason changes. I don’t end up watching the movie. Again, it’s rare that I go in at all. The walls of the lobby are very dark, almost black. Dark red curtains that almost blend in with the black.
