Hmm.... Sure, she saved the intended victim's life and it doesn't appear anyone else got hurt, but the latter fact is rather incidental; jerking the guy away like that, as he's about to fire, rather than trying to disarm him/prevent him from firing at all, endangered other people who could have been hit by accident. I suppose relatively speaking it's better taking the chance someone might get hurt, rather than his target definitely being shot, likely fatally, but moral relativism is a slippery slope, especially for a vigilante....
Huh, I didn't think it was possible for one of these CW Arrowverse shows to bring on a techie-talking head who wasn't obnoxiously annoying. Yeah, Luke has some idiosyncrasies, but so far he hasn't gone too far over the top for the most part and his exposition is fairly tolerable.
There are lots of things I can potentially get on board with for this adaptation. I can't think of any offhand, but the law of probability would suggest there are invariably some I could make my peace with, but the dinosaur in the Batcave being the size of a toy is not one of them.
What's next, the penny is just the size of a regular penny?
I'd much rather prefer Kate punch the maitre d' than threaten to bring her "influencer" step-sister to... I don't know... influence her followers against the restaurant?
Also, my spell check is telling me that "influencer" is not a word and I have no intention of telling it otherwise.
Okay, I don't know what to make of this scene between Sophie and Jacob. There are so many different ways they could have played on Sophie's insecurities about being out and they go with a bullshit pep talk from Kate's dad? It seemed to take hardly any effort for Sophie to do a 180; and it does very little to make me sympathetic to her position or the choice she me. And while what Jacob said may have been technically true, especially at the time, it still makes him look like a dick. And now I want Kate to punch Jacob.
is it me or does he actually look older in the flashback? And when is this flashback anyway?
Man, Kate still sucks at lying. Why didn't she just say Julia was an old friend?
Seriously Sophie? You go and tell Jacob that Kate is Batwoman? Glossing over the parallel of outing someone without their consent, Sophie just can't help betraying Kate's trust, can she?
Yeah, yeah, she means well, but she could have just as easily warned Kate and clued her in on how to track the weapon; it should be Kate's call whether to tell her dad.
And I really don't care how much Sophie tries standing up for Kate at the academy. I really don't want these two together. Bring on Renee Montoya for Kate, or put her with Julia.
Oh, got it.... I was thinking earlier how, when Kate was trying to deny that she was Kate (as Batwoman, of course) that they'd have her pull a fake out with Kate in the room with Sophie while someone else is out as Batwoman; and I was trying to figure out who they would have do that, since obviously it wasn't going to be Luke.... now I get why they brought Julia in, so she can be the stand-in.
This hasn't happened yet, just my prediction. Sophie's just seen Batwoman, who asked Sophie if she's told Jacob.
Called it. I mean, it was obvious; and yet also forced, because why the hell would Kate be in this house where they tracked the gun to?
So...it's just a coincidence Batwoman and/or Kate came to the house they tracked the super-gun to? Did they only go there because Sophie was there, in order to trick her?
Okay, if this fucking gun is so powerful it can punch a person through a brick fucking wall, I'm reasonably certain that person should be little more than a stain on a sidewalk, no matter what gear they're wearing.
I can maybe buy Crazy Beth sabotaged the super-gun and killed the people responsible for it (in the previous episode, didn't they say Bruce developed the gun? Did he seriously outsource that shit? Because that seems super irresponsible...) all in an effort to protect Kate - but again, how the fuck was that gun still powerful enough to knock Julia through a fucking brick wall, without penetrating the suit??
"Batman was praised and revered, but Bruce Wayne not so much"?
Seriously? Fuck you writers. Come on, Bruce might put on the rich playboy facade to dissuade ideas he could be Batman, but in virtually any iteration, including the comics, he still puts in the effort to do good in his public persona through Wayne Enterprises and various philanthropic endeavors. And there's no reason to suggest otherwise; he can put on the outward appearance of someone who'd be the last person anyone would believe was Batman, while still doing right by Gotham as Bruce Wayne.
But then, this take on Batman is another adaptation, in the vein of Birds of Prey, where Bruce Wayne would just abandon Gotham outright......
Alright, buying the building across from the restaurant with the bigot and turning it into a gay bar is at least as good as punching him, I guess......
What was the point of having Mouse turn out to be impersonating Jacob? When did the switch go down? I feel like they He didn't really do much in this episode; I feel like they just shoehorned the reveal into the episode. Had he done something of consequence that might have made a good reveal.
