I loved being a kid. Playing, watching movies with an awe that doesn't exist much anymore, I loved all of that. I LOVED playing. I would just disappear into my little worlds for hours.
Even playing sports was more fun as a kid. You thought you were in the most important game in the world. Christ, I remember playing pickup football or stickball (meaning it wasn't in a league and virtually meant nothing)and it was just so important. I remember certain plays or moments from these games that meant nothing. They were the stuff of legends in the neighborhood. I quit baseball after 8th grade and soccer after 11th. It just wasn't fun anymore.
Being an adult kinda sucks. You "have more freedom", but only to a point. Youhave to spend your days sitting at a desk doing shit that doesn't matter. Makes you wonder about how we set up our society.

It was OK. I'm happier now, though.

SAVE FERRIS You're complaining about social media...on a website. Interesting that you automatically look at this as a "complaint", rather than just a simple observation as to how times have changed.... SAVE FERRIS

I had to vote Yes. No, certainly, doesn't apply, and it was far closer to Yes, than Middle. Looking back on it, I was most fortunate. Actually, stopping to contemplate this made my day a little brighter. Thanks.

No. When I was 8 years old, my father had a job offer he couldn't refuse and we moved very far away for two years. I hated the new city, I never adapted, I made no friends. When we moved back to my home town, the difficulty making friends had become a self-fulfilling prophecy and I was pretty lonely all the way until my last year of high school.

It was pretty bad, but there are people who had a far worse childhood than me.

Not really. I was lazy and chubby through much of it. I was dirt poor. My parents beat the shit my ass but now act like they didn't or that I'm spoiled in comparison to their own parents' ass beatings.
Certainly could have been worse, but wasn't "awesome" either.

It had its up and downs. Certainly wasn't perfect, but my parents were very caring and it was more good than bad overall. I remember much of it fondly.

I voted for the third option, but it was mostly good. Not awesome, but not terrible either. I grew up in an isolated area, and most of my friends were in two small nearby towns. My relations lived by the coast, and that was an eight hour car drive away. These trips would happen about every two or three months or so, and would last about a week. Oddly, and as time went on, I preferred my friends over my extended family. My vivid imagination stems from them days where I had to make my own fun. I was very much a misfit, didn't have much in common with any other kids, yet my best friend back then was a school bully and troublemaker who looked out for me and let me play Nintendo and the PS1.
