Neither. The theatrical bombed at the box office and it took 7 re-edits to polish that turd. All cuts are still a turd.

I'm in the minority but I like the theatrical cut with Harrison Ford's narration. I also like the "happy" ending with the Shining footage.

I'm in the minority but I like the theatrical cut with Harrison Ford's narration. I also like the "happy" ending with the Shining footage. Ford was said to have deliberately tried to make it sound sucky-but the fact is, the film has so little characterization is is understandable why they wanted to add it. It's not a noirish film. Too limited in character. The best characters are Holden "Do you know what a tortoise is?" Chew "I make your eyes!", and Bryant 'Don't be an asshole-I got four skinjobs walking the street."

I realize that I am going to get DESTROYED for saying this but.....I myself actually like "BLADE RUNNER 2049" a heck of a lot more than I like the First Movie.

Both are great movies.
Much of Blade Runner's greatness comes from the visual quality and world building imo. Second are the ideas. Third is story and last is characterization.
Blade Runner: Directors Cut just strengthens an already excellent movie. I don't have much of a problem with the narration, so my only real issue with the theatrical cut is the way the movie ends.

I think there have been at least 4 different versions. I prefer the first, where Deckard narrates the story. The rest are watchable, but do not compare to the original release.

I don't think either are great films. There are some great moments, for sure, but overall I was disappointed with each version since my expectations were so high.
Ridley Scott? Harrison Ford? Vangelis? Philip K Dick?
Gotta be a sure masterpiece, right?

Both are good but the Directors Cut is an improvement.
