Modern digital animation games don't look as good as 90s FMV (full motion video) games like Rebel Assault 2 or Lethal Enforcers 2. Discuss.

If only toddlers knew what that word meant, they could start using it correctly. But toddlers aren't interested in using words correctly.

Modern graphics look better than grainy FMV from the early 90s.

It's pretty obvious that graphics improve with time. I don't really think that's debatable as texture quality becomes more lifelike as time passes for actual generated graphics.
FMV is some sort of side thing that's not inline with a typical games graphics.
p.s. but as everyone should know... a games graphics can't make or break a game as it's got to be enjoyable to play.

Modern graphics look better than grainy FMV from the early 90s. Nope, creepy "Polar Express" looking characters with expressionless faces and jerky movements don't look as good as flesh and blood actors. Only anti humanists would prefer that.

Nope, creepy "Polar Express" looking characters with expressionless faces and jerky movements don't look as good as flesh and blood actors. Only anti humanists would prefer that. While I agree somewhat with your first point, especially with certain games like Horizon Zero Dawn which look incredible until you watch the performances, technology has got to a point where facial animation in games is as good as movies now and it's only getting better thanks to performance and facial capture technology. Not that all games need this, especially ones which have more stylised graphics that don't require a realistic look at all. The second point about jerky animations is strange. Are you saying newer games have jerkier animation than the videos you provided? If anything they have some of the jerkiest movement I've ever seen in video games. Again, new technology such as motion capture and key-frame animation has sorted this problem out.

I think that some games like Ori and the Blind Forest and Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet have amazing graphics that are tough to beat. The thing that bothers me is that some games look way too realistic to the point that they're hard to stand because they look too much like reality and if they have violence they're scary to play. I'm worried that people will mistake remote control warfare for a game at some point since you can hardly tell the difference visually.

I completely disagree. And I remember playing Rebel Assault. At the time it looked great. Now it looks dated.

Yes. Video game graphics peaked with the release of King's Quest in 1984.
