Another weaker year for me, managed to fill out the field, but no real stand-outs:
8 Wuthering Heights [Japan] Grave of the Fireflies [Japan]
7 Damnation [Hungary] As Tears Go By [Hong Kong] My Neighbour Totoro [Japan]

I've got a lot of catching up to do. Kieślowski's Dekalog is another glaring omission, I really need to get to. I'm pretty sure I've seen Akira and Women on the Verge... but It's been awhile and I hadn't rated them on IMDb which is how I source my lists. I've always assumed Cinema Paradiso would be too sentimental and wouldn't appeal to me, but I'll probably get to it some time.

I rate it quite highly based on the first segment of the movie, with Philippe Noiret and the little kid, which is quite magical. The Dekalog is a monumental achievement although, the one and only time I watched it, I must confess to finding the individual episodes variable in quality, from magnificent to rather pedestrian.
