I looked up a recipe, bat to me, Candy is a lot of work to make. and you have to test the temperature! it is difficult. wish I lived by you [hungry] if you would make those, I bet you make lots of good stuff. enigma72 I took a very short candy making course .. mostly melt and dip or melt and put in a mold … nothing really fancy and nothing original.... much easier to buy ready made … tried to sell the molds at a rummage sale … finally gave them to the local thrift shop ..

The candy liquid is so hot, I got burned many times. Better for me to just buy a little! your candy making course was a good idea! btw last week I made seven trips to Good Will. My daughter got rid of some of her childhood treasures. Very Cathartic!!

I love 'em! But only if they are in a dark chocolate wrap. Milk chocolate is for the birds...

I like the ones covered in Dark Chocolate. My favorite were the ones from Fannie May Candies but I can't get them here so I settle for Queen Anne (but they are a little too sugary)

Nay. I love cherries but only the fresh ones, not when preserved in syrup.

Nay. I love cherries but only the fresh ones, not when preserved in syrup. my great grandpa had a cherry tree, jep one day, as a young child, I over indulged with the cherries. It was a lesson I remember! I still love fresh cherries, but am really careful not to eat too many. Funny how certain memories stick with you!

When Catman was a young tom, the dachshund got into two boxes of chocolate covered cherries, ate them box, wrappers, leaving only a bit of cellophane. She was one sick puppy, which would have been bad enough, but it was also right before the Cat family's big Christmas eve party. The first few guests to arrive were kind enough to help clean up the mess.

Good thing the dachshund was able to eliminate the mess. lol It wouldn't have happened if they were mine. I cannot stop eating them. There would have been none left.! lol

When I was younger, I liked them (dark chocolate only), but the last time I had one, it was way too sweet. I like Mmexis' thought about switching out some of that syrup for alcohol.

Pretty good, too sweet, crap ingredients. But I'll say "Yes" for rare occasions.
Ingredients Sugar, Corn Syrup, Cherries, Cocoa Butter, Chocolate Liquor, Milk High Fructose Corn Syrup, Partially Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (Contains Soybean and Cottonseed Oils), Cocoa, Natural and Artificial Flavors, Soya Lecithin (an Emulsifier), Invertase, Citric Acid Sodium Benzoate and Potassium Sorbate (Preservatives), FD&C Red No. 40 and Sulfur Dioxide (Preservative).

I once had a similar experience, when great seasonal cherries were offered, at an unbelievable price, at a local Farmers' Market. I think that I bought a couple of pounds ... I almost filled one of their bags. That night, I watched a movie, and indulged on cherries. Yes, it's best to pace yourself.
