I hadn't even heard about it until someone on Facebook announced she was excited about the last season getting ready to start. So whenever season 5 started is when I decided to start the series on Netflix. We binged watched all eps and then went to the dvr to watch the newest season, and of course we are down to the finale this Monday. What a fantasy show this is! The acting is over the top. And like people here have already mentioned, the show just got better and better with every episode. I don't think there was a single episode that I didn't enjoy. I wish I could say that about TWD, which took a dive after S 2 for me. I don't want BM to end. Sadly it has.

Actually there is a - Bates Motel Marathon on A&E right now ( just discovered it this morning while looking for something to watch ) . I totally agree yamahatriple I don't want this show to end either but at least it's ending on a compete note instead of being cancelled before it's time . Also after the new final episode there is a special 30 minute show called " Bates Motel : The Final Checkout " . I so can't wait to watch that one now as well . Thanks so much yamahatriple for your subject post .

Oh, btw, I reread my original post and instead of writing fantastic show I wrote fantasy show by mistake. Auto incorrect lol.

Don't worry about any reply misspellings on your post here it happens to me all the time . I'm always crazily rechecking my posts and replies for errors - I don't have Auto Correct mines just human error here . Good thing I checked my Fios Schedule otherwise we ( or definitely I ) would have missed out on it and thought it was totally final or the rerun episode of this last one . If you are watching this marathon today In between episodes A&E keeps showing a really excellent general series finale commercial for tonight's episode - really cool . Actually found it on YouTube - may need to brace yourself it's really intense . Bates Motel: Series Finale - Official Trailer | A&E

I wouldn't say in a long time, we are living in the Golden Age for television, but it is a very good show.

I loved the finale but I was wondering who was watching Dylan's baby while they were in Oregon?

I loved the finale but I was wondering who was watching Dylan's baby while they were in Oregon? When Emma arrived at the King's Hotel parking lot and Dylan stepped outside of his room to meet her there she said as both of them hugged - " I left Katie with my Dad " . It was a very quick scene and I didn't notice it until I watched that episode a second time . This show's dialogues & scenes move along very quickly I almost always have to watch episodes a second time to catch what I missed the first time around . I agree bunsofsteel this last episode was a most excellent memorable one too .

Indeed - Dylan's character was a sweet , supportive , and very kind young man . It seemed no matter what trouble was in his life whether it was with his family , current jobs , or friends etc. he always remained a survivor ( also a very good supporter too ) and a loyal friend , son , and brother even in the very end . I was so very glad he ended up with a good , happy , and serene life with Emma & Katie he really deserved it and it was well earned too ( all of this IMPO of course ) .

Totally agree a definite strong willed family too that survived a lot of trouble , danger , and hurt ( and well more than their unfair share than needed ) . Also it seemed no matter how bad it was for them at times - especially in a dire crisis . They mostly came to each others rescue when it was urgently needed . IMPO - This show definite did NOT have a dull or boring moment in it . I'm so going to miss watching this on Monday nights now .

What a sweet family! Seeing Dylan, Emma and Katie together at the end was the icing on the cake.

I don't know if it's one of the best, but it certainly one of the better ones. Currently, Better Call Saul and The Americans (best show on TV right now IMO) our "better" shows, but Bates had this certain quality or X factor that is going to make me miss it more. It's very enjoyable and engaging.

It really is/was a great show. At first I was skeptical with all the twilight / Dawson's creek -ish undertones. But the more I watched it the better it got. Glad I Stuck with it.
