Y'all can keep your hifalutin Tarkovskii and Akermen, nothing can beat Vilma Santos in Darna vs the Planet WomenAfraid, that one slipped under my radar. LOL ... of course it did. Darna can evade detection by even the powerfulest radar!
But seriously, I've alway had a soft spot for Darna, in the same kind of way I feel pangs of nostalgia for early to mid 1970s Dr Who. The whole contemporary superhero movie movement has completely passed me by, but I'm still hanging out for the new Darna movie.
And Vilma Santos is a truly great actor (despite the obligatory lashings of ham and corm she brought to the table in that particular role).
