La La Land easily, which was wonderful in every way.
I respected the craft behind Birdman more than I actually enjoyed it.

Both were their years favorite and quite overrated by that. Neither will age well. If I had to choose I'd pick La La Land because I genuinely enjoyed the first half.

Both are immensely overrated, but I prefer La La Land.

Easy! LaLaLand. I didn't like Birdman at all. It's tied with boyhood for my least favorite of the 2015 Nominees.

I love both, but I prefer La La Land. Agreed with you....Emma Stone, coincidentally, was in both movies..nominated for both and WON BEST ACTRESS OSCAR for La-La Land!!!!!!!!!!! I enjoyed Birdman but much much prefer La La Land.

I didn't like either one, but Birdman was waaaaaay better than the dire rubbish that was La La Land.

La La Land was perhaps the most satisfying viewing experience I had in 2016. The music was just crazily addictive, I couldn't get the soundtrack out of my head for weeks.
Even though I enjoyed Keaton's performance in Birdman I thought the film itself was just pretentious drivel.

I prefer Birdman, I didn't like it as much the first time because I thought it was kind of scatter brained, but on subsequent viewings I've loved it more and more each time. La La Land I thought was pretty good, and would absolutely love to see a stage adaptation of it eventually but I don't expect I'll watch the movie too many more times.

I liked La La Land better. Oddly I think Birdman had a better story but I found most of the characters obnoxious so I can't say it was a pleasant sit.

I never got to see LLL but I think Birdman is by far the worst Best Picture winner of all time. And I have seen them all except Moonlight, which could not possibly be as bad.

Easily La La Land. On a technical level Birdman was fantastic, but the story itself didn't interest me that much and I never really cared about or connected with the characters. When the movie was finished I kinda sat there and thought 'Well, I guess that was the movie'. I'm a bit conflicted about Birdman, maybe a rewatch would help. But I don't think there's any chance it'll get close to my appreciation for La La Land. La La Land is one of my favorite movies of 2016 and one of my favorite musicals ever made.

Both are fantastic films. But I do found La La Land a bit more fun to watch for the musical and journey, while Birdman can enjoyable to watch on a contemporary level and just for the performance of the main cast (especially Michael Keaton).
