An attempt at seriously discussing how the BBC has destroyed Doctor Who with "Bill" was hijacked by Moffet apologists, BBC shills, and other assorted trolls, so I created a new thread so we can discuss the matter in peace.
Is "Bill" the worst companion in Doctor Who history, or just the worst companion of the NuWho era (and if its the latter case, who do you think could have possibly been worse than her? I've been brainstorming on this and I can't think of anyone from the classic era that sucked even more).
Discuss.

Adam was, by design, unquestionably the worst companion ever.

Adam was, by design, unquestionably the worst companion ever. Adam doesn't even count as a companion, IMO. He only appeared in a single episode, so that made him a one-shot "guest star". A companion is a reoccurring character that The Doctor interacts with on numerous occasions. For example, River Song. Even if I give you the benefit of the doubt and count Adam as a "companion", he isn't nearly as bad as "Bill". He just had that idiotic premise of his head opening up every time someone snapped their fingers. That's nowhere near as bad as "check this awesome new companion, a ugly butch lesbian with a man's name, an afro, and dated 80s clothes who will be on the show every week for the sole purpose of reminding you constantly that she's gay. Aren't we soooo progressive and cool for inventing her?"

A bit early to judge i think. Oh please, that's like saying "Star Wars fans were a bit premature to judge Jar Jar Binks as the Worst Star Wars Character Ever back in 1999, after all, he had only been in one movie at the time, compared to the other characters being around for decades. They needed more time with Jar Jar to determine whether or not he was a good addition to the Star Wars universe".
Wars fans were INSTANTLY repulsed by Jar Jar the instant they learned about him, and their reaction has stood the test of time.
The same will prove true of Whovians seeing "Bill" for the first time. Decades from now, Doctor Who fans will look back at 2017, and ask themselves in astonishment: "What WERE the writers thinking? The infamous 'Bill' episodes make Colin Baker's run look like Shakespeare in comparison!"

Bill doesn't seem too bad (so far)! The poll results here show otherwise. You Moffat apologists do not represent the majority of Whoivans. Fans are rightfully outraged that he has destroyed Doctor Who. I cannot understand it myself. He was such a good writer BEFORE they handed the reigns of the show to him.

Actually, I'm not a Moffat fan at all (much less a Moffat apologist). I roll my eyes when I see his name on the screen and I'll be glad when he's gone. Since you unnecessarily went off the cliff with my post, I understand the knee jerk reaction to the new companion.

The only thing I've said is that I'm willing to give a new character a reasonable chance before I pass judgement. Anyway, everyone has different tastes. What you like/dislike may not align with what others like/dislike......and that's OK!

You've been arguing (blasphemously, I might add) that the godawful "Bill" character (currently causing audiences to tune OUT in droves) is actually SUPERIOR to Clara. Here is an example of your OWN words: Anyone trying to sell Whovians on the idea that an ugly lesbian with a man's name, an afro, and 80s clothes is SUPERIOR to the classy, beautiful, mysterious "impossible girl" (who had the most memorable surprise first appearance ever, in the plot twist of BEING a Dalek, and went to star in the iconic 50th anniversary special) has zero credibility. No sane person would ever prefer watching "Bill" to Clara. EVER.

Here's the reality of my supposedly "troll" thread. I said right from the start that I was OPEN MINDED and willing to CONSIDER the possibility that there's a WORSE companion than "Bill" in Doctor Who history, given the 50+ year history of the franchise. I couldn't THINK of anyone worse but I invited other posters who DON'T agree with my "Bill is the worst companion ever" premise to cite an example of a classic companion that sucked ever more, and I would certainly listen to their response and consider their comments. Perhaps I overlooked another character given the dozens of the characters in the history of the franchise. Over 285 views later, not a SINGLE person has been able to come up with a SINGLE example. And no, I STILL don't consider that definitive "proof" that Bill is the worst ever, but it is proof that those who scream "TROLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!" the loudest aren't interested in having a serious discussion to refute my premise. IF they did come up with a good example of a bottom of the barrel companion that sucked even worse than "Bill", I would be the FIRST to admit I was wrong and hadn't thought about that individual before assuming Bill must be the worst ever. Yet no one is willing or able to cite such an example. In fact, only ONE comment even TRIED to come up with a "worse than Bill" example, and they broke the rules of my thread by citing a character from modern Who instead of the classic (1963-1989) era that's not fresh in people's minds. Despite this person breaking the thread rules, I STILL welcomed their comments and responded back about why their example of "Adam" being worse than Bill was wrong. Furthermore, IF I had followed the "rules" of the Bill defenders here, the "Adam is worse" premise wouldn't even be a valid example, since according to your OWN arguments, its "too early" to judge the ugly lesbian with a man's name because she hasn't had enough screen time yet. Unfortunately for you, the same "rule" would apply to Adam since he was only part of the TARDIS crew for a SINGLE episode. Going by your own "logic", it was therefore waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too soon to determine if Adam was a terrible companion, and we needed an entire season's worth of episodes with Adam aboard the TARDIS to make that determination. That being said, being the good sport about it, I didn't hold the Bill apologists to their OWN "rules". Too bad you are not willing to do the same. In short, if anyone is "trolling" on here, its the Moffatt apologists/BBC shills who scream "TROLL!!" at any negative criticism of the show they can't refute.

Bill = awesome.
I ❤️ Bill.
Much as I love Amy and Clara, Pearl Mackie is a far better actress. She's so much more convincing.

You paid Moffat assistants at the BBC can create all the fake accounts you want on here. Nobody is buying your "long time Doctor Who fan who just happens to love the ugly lesbian with a man's name" act.

Good to see you haven't loaded the question at all...
I really think you should talk about this more. You seem to have some concerns about the show, but are being far too introverted about it.

Between her unintelligible speech (seriously, I have to use the closed captions), her endless questions, and her acting as if she's better than the doctor, I'm already eager to see her go.
