I think that was his point, Rodgers hasn't lost a Super Bowl. Some people (and I'm not necessarily saying the OP) think losing a Super Bowl is a strike against you as opposed to not making it to a Super Bowl at all. Remember DC Fan (before he got banned) used to argue losing Super Bowls was somehow worse than losing in the wild card round? (Until the Patriots lost in the wild card round, then it was 'another one and done' for the Patriots. I'll be honest, I'm not going to miss him.) Huh, he got banned? I guess so. They were talking about it on the Marvel board. I asked what he did and all they said was he hijacked a few threads and kept arguing the same stuff. He's done that on every board on this site since he joined, so I'm not sure what put it over the edge. Maybe he said some magic words to admin or something?

If this is true, then unlike my request to Admin to reinstate Anthonyrocks, don’t be in any hurry to bring back DC Fan.

I think given the change in the game since Favre had that bounty on his head against the Saints, I'd still lean Favre, but I'm not voting. Aaron's lack of picks is nice, but he may have played it safe maybe too often. Still a master of the sideline pass, ane got screwed in a few key games by never seeing the ball in OT. If he got screwed by never seeing the ball in overtime it was the Packers defense that did the screwing. All they had to do was not allow a touchdown on the opening drive. Agreed. I don't like either college or OT rules, but I'd like to see a change in the NFL. Team scoring a TD can go for 1 or 2. Other team gets the ball. If they score, they can't go for the tying score unless the first team got 2. If both get 8 points in OT, then put the ball on the 2 (or 10, but that eliminates the run) for 1 play for each team shootout style until one scores and the other doesn't. Switch ends of the field after 4 attempts just for the fans' and advertisers' sake. Winning team gets only 1 additional point.

Eliminate the tie, play until there’s a winner. If one team’s defense can’t prevent an opening drive touchdown then they don’t deserve to win anyway. Don’t make some convoluted NHL style system.

Sure, his schtick itself was stale, but at least he consistently found new ways to express it and was actually capable of engaging in sports discussion outside of the Brady stuff. Unlike that forky cretin who recently sprouted like some kind of stunted mushroom, simply repeating "the Patriots cheated" everywhere and posting pics of "Cheatriot Cereal" or whatever. Or WarrenPeace who I'm not sure has ever actually watched a game in its entirety.

And yes there's a Marvel board for dorks like me. DC Fan was every bit as entertaining on that board as well.

The more the rules change to favor offense over defense, the more imbalanced and unfair the OT rules. Get two offensive juggernauts into OT and it's game over after the toss. Works fine for Redskins-Jets, though. Might help to change PI rule. Even if just for OT.

Works fine for Redskins-Jets, though. There’s three aspects to every game and every team - offense, defense, and special teams. All three need to be strong to be successful. If an offensive juggernaut has a weak defense then that team should have been constructed better. It’s simple - don’t allow a TD on the opening drive. Hold them to a field goal or less and you get a a chance too.

I agree, but both teams need the chance to demonstrate this in the OT period. Chiefs win the coin toss in the AFC title game last year and they probably win the game right there. I don't think that would've proved they were the better team, just as the Patriots winning the toss and scoring didn't either. It's just not a satisfying way to end a game.

If the Chiefs won the coin toss last year then it would have been on the Patriots defense to stop them. There’s nothing unfair about the system as it is - if the team on defense simply plays defense then the coin toss loser gets a chance too.

Ending the game on an opening touchdown where a field goal gives the ball back to the other team is just too arbitrary. Two teams with great offenses and shit defenses go to OT and a lot hinges on a damn coin toss. Yes, the loser needs to play defense - but if they aren't successful, the other team's defense shouldn't get off scot free just because their offense happened to score after winning a coin toss to decide who got the ball first. Team A scores a TD, Team B needs to match it; if they can't, it's game over. I don't think that would hurt anyone. And it would test each aspect of both teams, their offense, their defense, and their special teams.

Winning on the opening drive of OT is no different than winning on the final drive in regulation. The game is on the line and one team has to score while the other has to make a stop. I think the NFL rules are far superior to college, which is a bastardization of football.

I’m not trying to be the one-note “Patriots cheated” guy who will not be named. There’s definitely more offensive juggernauts in the league than defensive juggernauts, but that’s on the GMs.

So I just realized Aaron Rodgers's agent in the State Farm commercials got the last laugh. Maybe they can film some new ones with just Mahommes. Better yet, film a sequel to the one where Rodgers makes him get out of his car and walk. Rodgers is fooling around with the radio or something and runs over the agent. Rodgers looks into the backseat all bug eyed and the State Farm guy says, "I can help you with this," and gets out with latex gloves, a hacksaw and a trash bag.
