LOL, Oh Good Grief!
That's Crazy!
But if they made that movie, you'd be posting pics and gifs on here of the sex scene constantly.

Just watched it. I had high hopes, as I liked the trailer and one reviewer who I really like enjoyed the movie, but...it was just awful, and a waste of time. Director tried to make an artsy horror flick, and ended up with a beautifully shot bore.

The acting was fine, they can't be blamed. Beautiful cinematography. I just think the writer/director wanted to make "art", but doesn't quite have the talent.

1. Why reverse the names this time?
The billing order is reversed because in this version Gretel is the older sibling and point of view character, Hansel is much younger, not a focal point of the movie and in her charge.
2. Didn't we have a Hansel and Gretel movie with Jeremy Renner?
Indeed we have, I haven't seen it but I've heard its actually a lot more fun than the initial critical and audience reaction indicated. I might need to rent it on demand some night.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I saw Gretel & Hansel last night and have to say its one of the more disappointing movie experiences I've had recently. I went into this knowing it had an underwhelming RT and IMDb score but was convinced it was going to be a movie tailor made to my tastes, and sadly I was wrong. Aesthetically its one of my favorite movies to look at in some time, with shots that look staged exactly out of a painting in a Pagan or Witchcraft history museum. The occult imagery is fantastic, the conception and construction of the set pieces is enough to make any artsy heavy metal fan giddy. There will be a ton of great Youtube videos editing together clips of this movie set to the music of bands like Black Sabbath, Sleep, Sunn O))) etc, and speaking of music the score by ROB is really atmospheric. Unfortunately this is where the praise hits the wall, even with this amazing set design, the movie was photographed terribly. I'm not opposed to shooting movies in "full screen", but this movie doesn't use that aesthetic very well when it comes to storytelling. It seems the cast had cameras strapped to them the entire time filming "selfie style", which doesn't allow room to compose many interesting shots in dialogue exchange, and eyelines seemed to be wrong in nearly every exchange. The movie feels stilted, awkward, flat, and unengaging. It's cinematically atonal, which makes it nearly unwatchable in the theatrical setting, but it would be a perfectly acceptable movie to watch on netflix.

6/10 Hmmmm...sounds almost like it's another case of changing things up for today's society (i.e., political correctness), as in changing James Bond from a white male to a black male or to a female. What are you talking about? The characters have always been 2 young white siblings. I don't know I don't think it really matters I just know Gretel and Hansel just doesn't roll off the tongue as good. I think that's because we've gotten used to the original title.
