They should remake a new ending where Bambi gets PT from her mother's death and goes on a forest killing spree. That's the only thing that would get me vaguely interested in watching.

Germany's film awards is named after Bambi (yes, that Bambi). That seems kind of weird.
I predict someone will do a CGI Bambi Meets Godzilla trailer spoof.

Oh, for the love of God, please stop.
But on a funnier note, Saturday Night Live predicted this years ago.

I thought the original was decent enough. Thereβs no need to redo these hand-drawn animated movies in this format; it takes away the magic of those kinds of films.

They will also make a slight change by renaming the character Bambo.

After nearly 80 years a new adaptation/remake of a book is being made! So what. Seven Samurai came out and had at least 6 remakes since in that time. Thank god its not another Christmas Carol or Romeo & Juliet. People would really lose their shit.

They should be a CGI remake of "Aristocats", they insert a bunch of lame puns: "It's purrrr-fect!" and "It's all about meow!"

Germany's film awards is named after Bambi (yes, that Bambi). That seems kind of weird. I predict someone will do a CGI Bambi Meets Godzilla trailer spoof. It's especially weird, and ironic, since the author of the book, Felix Salten, intended it as an allegory about the growing anti-Semitism and barbarism of 1920s Europe, particularly in Germany, where the Nazi movement was just beginning. Bambi was one of the books burned by Nazi Germany, while its Jewish author was sent into exile. I've been waiting for a remake of Bambi for years, one which would be much more faithful to the original work, instead of the more kid-friendly Disney story; it would be especially timely today. Unfortunately, they probably wouldn't have the guts to make that version.

Bambi was one of the books burned by Nazi Germany, while its Jewish author was sent into exile. Oh so the post-war political organs of the country probably named the award. It is a strange name for a German movie award.
What's interesting is how Disney influenced attitudes towards deer hunting and apparently against the wishes of the author who was pro-hunting. Now that's ironic.
Deer hunting was rare before the invention of the rifle--a rich man's hobby-but when the rifle was introduced deer hunting was very common-so much so that deer were shot in such numbers that many were orphaned and died from starvation.
There is a long history in European literature to comment on the lives of nonhuman animals--Shakespeare has a passage about deer being hunted--the idea works better if it is about the subject and not intended as a metaphor for humans.
It would have been crazy to try to make the story about fascism or racial conflicts--not with forest creatures who have their own special relation with humans.

I'm a fan of these live-action adaptations, but even I think they're starting to overdo it at this stage.
