I guess I always think of Marilyn Monroe (age 36), Jeff Chandler (age 42), Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin (all of whom were 27 at time of death), Jane Mansfield (age 34), and Sharon Tate (age 26). Also, Selena Quintanilla (age 23).
On the Celebrity News thread, I just shared a couple of Youtube videos about Selina. In the first one, the guy took us on a tour to her grave, & then in the second one, he showed us the hotel where she was shot.

And of course, the most extreme example, Heather O''Rourke.

Judith Barsi. Young actor who starred in Jaws 4, and who voiced characters in the animated films All Dogs Go to Heaven and The Land Before Time, along with appearances in TV shows like The Love Boat and Punky Brewster. Murdered by her father, who also killed her mother before turning the gun on himself, while All Dogs Go to Heaven was in post-production. Her life was really tragic.
Lana Clarkson. Actress who played mainly minor roles in quite a number of films and television shows over 20 years. Shot dead by Phil Spector at his home in 2003.

Yes, & Elvis Presley too (42). Princess Diana (36) (Yes, she counts as a celebrity, albeit she was royalty, & not an entertainer.)

When I heard the sad news about Mr. Bryant, his daughter and all who died in the accident, I was reminded of rock concert impresario, Bill Graham. He, too, was a passenger aboard a helicopter that was flying in less than ideal weather conditions. It was dark and rainy, and the copter hit some high wires. There were no survivors.
Like Kobe Bryant, Bill Graham was highly successful in his field, widely admired, and generously gave back to the community. Many of his huge productions were fund-raising philanthropic projects. Anyone working on a charitable event could count on "Bill Graham Presents," to be of some assistance ... even if it was just to contact some musicians to encourage them to get involved.
My heart is with Mr. Bryant's family, and close friends and colleagues.
R.I.P., all.

Let's not forget the plane crash in February, 1959 ("The Day the Music Died"), that took the lives of 3 young singer-celebrities: Buddy Holly (22 years old), J.P. Richardson Jr. aka "The Big Bopper" (28 years old), and Ritchie Valens (only 17 years old).

Of those 3, the Big Bopper is the only one whom they never did a movie about.

Of those 3, the Big Bopper is the only one whom they never did a movie about. I have a very large sturdy pair of lopping (pruning) sheers that I have nicknamed "The Big Lopper" sort of as a tribute to The Big Bopper.

I had forgotten about Dorothy, and that was a shocker. Being a red-blooded fifteen year old male at the time, her Playboy shoot was legendary. There was just something ethereal in her beauty, to say she was captivating doesn't do her justice. The cinema I was working in during high school ran the Bogdanovich movie she starred in, They All Laughed. She played a love interest for John Ritter's character and while the movie wasn't necessarily great, it was a sweet little movie that was interesting and Dorothy showed promise in her ability.
