Up until a few weeks ago, I hadn't visited this website since some time last summer. I couldn't help noticing that some of the sections of the forum that existed last summer are now gone. For example: "paranormal", "lgbt", and some of the movie genre sections such as "fantasy film". Why were all those sections removed?

, Actually, I think that the Admins cull through the various boards, from time to time, to asses which ones are attracting the most activity. Then, they adjust accordingly. I love travel, and discussions of everything from locations, to various modes of travel. Unfortunately, that has never "flown," on IMDb ... either version. I'm sorry that's the case, but if it doesn't attract some level of spirited discussion, it isn't a reasonable venue on a "discussion board."

I noticed that there is no longer an art board but that’s okay. I’ll just post anything art related that comes to mind here as this is meant to be a place for general discussion.

Some much needed simplifying. It was ridiculous how many different boards there were relative to the amount of overall activity on the forum.

Initially v2 just replicated all the boards from IMDb. It looks like he cleaned house and pared it down to the most active and relevant topics. My only question for Admin would be were the posts from the eliminated boards deleted or moved to other boards? Moved.

Some much needed simplifying. It was ridiculous how many different boards there were relative to the amount of overall activity on the forum. No, they were not ridiculous. The search function has always been quite troublesome... But at least it was more possible to find similar discussions when they were on their own boards. Now with everything being dumped into several random boards, it's extremely difficult to find just one discussion concerning a specific topic, because it might be buried a half dozen pages down, and finding multiple similar discussions? It is even worse... I still don't understand why the "James Bond" board was eliminated... There are over 25 films to discuss, and with one just recently released to theaters...And that doesn't qualify for it's own board? I don't understand that reasoning... Trying to find all those various discussions involving those 25 films across the various General discussion boards, is next to impossible. When things become like finding a needle in a stack of needles... Why bother trying to search for anything in the first place?

Some of the "deleted" boards may have deserved to stay, but for the most part I think the clean-up was warranted and reasonable. A Transport board. Individual boards for each decade of televsion, including the 1940s.

I miss the automobiles/transportation board, but it had very little traffic.

I don't think the popular franchise boards should have been reduced to just 3 sections.
