Not really, but I am very cautious about those riding the bus at the same time, and keep a very wary eye on those who could be ne'er do wells...

If Keanu Reeves is a passenger, maybe.

Anxious for which specific reason? Claustrophobia? Anxious about the weird passengers at some times of the day or night? Not having seat belts in the bus?

Anxious for which specific reason? Claustrophobia? Anxious about the weird passengers at some times of the day or night? Not having seat belts in the bus? A seat belt would have stopped my knees from getting hurt when the bus I was on hit a car but then I probably wouldn’t have used it anyway.

That depends on a number of factors, such as: (1) The part of town/country the bus is traveling through. (2) The time of day/night the trip is occurring in. (3) The general appearance/demeanor/actions of the passengers. (4) The apparent condition of the driver. (5) The current conditions of other traffic. Hmm. Reviewing all these factors makes me wonder how I ever got up the nerve to travel on any bus. But then, back in the day when my car got totaled (and I couldn't afford to replace it), I didn't have a lot of choice in the matter. Nowadays, the only bus I would feel comfortable taking would be one of those big touring coaches headed for some special attraction or event, preferably with a group of like-minded tourists.

I get anxious riding anything that I'm not driving personally.

It depends where you ride the bus , in what city and in what country ? I've heard in India , there's a 50/50 chance the bus or train will break down or crash . And in their cities , women are frequently molested by men , which can lead to worse .
In my city , the buses are modern , clean and air-conditioned . Maybe before the millenium , they were frequented by drunks who would breathe all over you and occasionally throw up on you . Some of the old women would also like to pee on their seats . The worst were the delinquent groups who would taunt , goad and try to start fights with regular passengers . Occasionally they still try this . But with the advent of onboard cameras and security police on trains and buses , it is a much safer , friendly and enjoyable journey to have .

I'm never ever really anxious riding the bus, but there are times when I'm reminded of how grateful I am that someone was smart enough to invent headphones.

Haven't been on one in ages, but always loved it as a kid.....but that was back during a different (more trusting) era (late 60's and early 70's). A friend of mine and I would jump on the bus from our suburban town, and head to downtown Milwaukee about a half-hour away, to spend the day......when I was between 9-12 years of age (not sure too many parents would be comfortable allowing that today, then again, the kids would probably expect mom or dad to drive them anyway, so I don't know that it would even be an issue anymore). There were a number of second-hand book/magazine stores there that I LOVED going to, to get my hands on comic books, which I was into in a HUGE way (by the time I started to lose interest in them a few years later, I had over 1,000 in my collection!). We'd do that, hit the MASSIVE Milwaukee Public Library on Wisconsin Avenue, The Moon Fun Shop (a "novelty" type store, with lots of things kids appreciate, like candy, crazy posters, magic tricks, 'gag gifts', etc.......kind of like a less 'fancy' forerunner to today's Spencer Gift shops), before grabbing some lunch, and then heading home about 4 or 5 hours later. And though we came across our share of strange people riding the bus on all those trips as kids, they never bothered us, and we never bothered them, and never had any other incidents, or (traffic) accidents on any of the buses we ever rode on. As far as coach (Greyhound-type) buses, I did ride them a number of times some years after, when visiting my high school chum at UW in Madison during our college days, but never had any odd or bad experiences during any of those trips. So, given that history, I would have absolutely NO qualms about jumping on a bus these days, if for some reason I ever needed to..... Wisconsin Avenue - Downtown Milwaukee (1970's)SAVE FERRIS

Yep, and trains too. Too often there are crazies on board who I get afraid will do something.
Luckily I rarely ever need to use public transport these days.

I used to get anxiety about waiting for a bus-and nervous about going on and getting a seat or missing my stop. I was in a couple of bus crashes-almost got my teeth knocked out. Drunks on a bus another time, and on a sky-train I think I avoided being witness to a psycho attacking a couple of younger people late at night. I haven't been on a bus since 2008.

WTF asshole? Why would you share something so horrible? Thank you for your polite question. I checked the story first and, although it looks terrible, nobody was seriously hurt. I wouldn’t have used it otherwise.

Can’t remember where that happened but no one died. It was in New York. www.popularmechanics.com/cars/trucks/a24959/truck-bus-crash/There were some gifs that I definitely didn’t want to use.
