Australia's most successful racing car manufacturer Holden will be no more as of the end of 2020 with American company General Motors pulling the plug on right hand drive vehicles. While not unexpected, this has saddened many race fans in Australia. Holden was seen as an Iconic Australian brand and have dominated local car racing for nearly the entire existence of the Touring Car Series and more recently the V8 Supercars.
Ever since I was a young kid, I've supported Holden Racing Cars, from Peter Brock to Larry Perkins to Mark Skaife all my favourite drivers were Holden men. You could see this coming when the Government (wisely IMO) stopped subsidizing GM's Australian production facilities. Their sales had been dropping for year due to the arrival of Asian car manufacturers in the Australian market. It should not be the government's job to prop up failing industries. GM responded by closing down its Australian facilities. From that moment, the fate of Holden Racing was inevitable, but the finality of this decision is still sad to hear.
Imagine Chevrolet pulling out of NASCAR or Mercedes or Ferrari pulling out of F1. That's how big Holden are in Australian Motor Sport.
Here's hoping Shane Van Gisburgen can send the Holden Racing Team out with a championship in 2020.

In that case, I'm Holden on to mine.

I'm thinking about buying an xbox one right when the next model comes out just to play the Forza games. Project Cars 2 is fun, but lacks replayability after the first 20 hours.
