So with the rumors of Michaela Coel being the 13th Doctor, I am curious how they would do it.
Would they keep Bill and just have two black women? (Which I'm basically fine with...)
But part of me thinks that Bill will die. And at his new regeneration, he would "choose" a face closer to hers.
Just a hunch...thought I would see what other people thought.

She denied the rumor.
I would prefer Bill not dying.

I would prefer Bill not dying. It doesn't really matter. Either way, the current season of Doctor Who is so awful, that future eras of the show will retcon it as having never happened. Allowing the current abomination to be "canon" would fatally handicap Chris Chibnall's attempt to salvage the franchise. He doesn't need that albatross around his neck.

I'm getting the feeling you don't like this season. You should probably be more up-front about it.

I would prefer Bill not dying. This. Very much so, yes. "Life sucks and is not worth living if I'm not traveling with the Doctor" is just awful. And it gets even worse when trips in the TARDIS are just something you do in your down-time and you're not even a proper, full-time companion. I was disappointed that RTD added that baggage to Sarah Jane. I was happy that Amy and Rory were getting away from that and already working towards parting ways with 11. Companions used to die, yes, but they were just as likely to go home, or find new homes somewhere else in their travels. Martha's been the only one to truly leave on her own, but that still had to be marred by her unrequited love wangst. Amy, too, but that was tied to Rory and tragedy. Let's have another "alright, I'm ready to move on" companion.

I'm not really sure I ever thought there was any possibility of that rumor proving true, but I haven't given much thought into the Thirteenth Doctor just yet -- still very much enjoying Capaldi's run. But hearing her name mention did prompt me to check out Chewing Gum on Netflix recently, because I was unfamiliar with Michaela Coel. Curious and all that.

But part of me thinks that Bill will die. No chance. They don't have the balls to kill a companion.
