I've read the extended version of Stephen King's THE STAND, length doesn't worry me, just wondering if I will get into his writing style.

I've read the extended version of Stephen King's THE STAND, length doesn't worry me, just wondering if I will get into his writing style. His writing style is very visually descriptive. He's invented a whole world and he describes the details of this world extensively. My older brother read these books at 10 years old. My parents gave him a paperback boxed set of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings when he was 5 days old as a birth gift. They told him to read them when he got the chance. He read them at 10 and loved them. Talk about my parents figuring him out early!!

OK, you are getting me intrigued. I read my first book, a Hard Boys adventure, at about 5 years old and have never stopped reading since. (Well, a couple of times, like just now to type this).
And I am a fan of ERB's Tarzan, which also contains many author-created civilizations, species, languages, etc. So perhaps the LotR books are not quite as daunting as I imagined.

I read The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings when I was 20 years old or so. I loved 'em!

Just give me a couple of months, will try to fit them in during vacation this summer.

8/10, but it didn't make me want to watch more (Two Towers). Read the books through twice, though.

9/10 (SEE-version)
The best and most "connected" movie...the last one is a disjointed mess compared to this one, and the second one is the classic movie "inbetween". This one feels right and sucks you in.
Of course no match to Game of Thrones...not in the slightest.

A 10/10. What else could it be? Movies don't get much better than this.
