Sometimes small flames can be useful and light the way like in Die Hard (1988). Sometimes they can cause problems, like when a small flame suddenly becomes a BIG flame in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). And then other times they can serve as a substitute for those without thumbs like in Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015).
