Name a Movie Character (Any Movie Character) that you yourself absolutely love but at the same time is Most Definitely HATED by a heck of a lot of people (maybe even a majority of people) ?
For me, My own Answer is 'Rey Skywalker' from the "STAR WARS" Sequel Trilogy.
'Rey Skywalker' in Episode 7 (THE FORCE AWAKENS)
'Rey Skywalker' in Episode 8 (THE LAST JEDI)
'Rey Skywalker' in Episode 9 (THE RISE OF SKYWALKER)
-------------------------------------
What about everybody else here ?

Name a Movie Character (Any Movie Character) that you yourself absolutely love but at the same time is Most Definitely HATED by a heck of a lot of people (maybe even a majority of people)? Miss Gulch / The Wicked Witch of the West, played by actress Margaret Hamilton. The character of the Witch was especially disliked, misunderstood and hated by children. Hamilton until the day she passed, had children come up to her asking why she was so mean to Dorothy. At the time of filming, Hamilton was a long-time kindergarten teacher and loved children. 29 years after "The Wizard of Oz" was released, Hamilton appears on "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" where she told children watching that the Witch was just a character. Hamilton also suffered an accident in which she was severely burned during her dramatic exit from Munchkinland. The impressive special effect was achieved by her stepping onto a trap door (obscured by rising smoke) that dropped beneath her, and then a burst of real fire came up. On one take, the fire came too early, and her costume caught fire. She was off the film for more than a month. She didn't pursue with suing the studios because she knew she would never work in acting again, so she made agreements that no more fire work and filming went on. Also, I love Rey Skywalker, Rey's my girl! Lol, I second Jar Jar Binks, too. He's like Mickey Mouse's sidekick, Goofy.

I liked that character as well.
Man though, He had a sad death scene (It was basically a "BOY WHO CRIED WOLF" death).

Jar Jar Binks, though "love" might be a bit strong. I do like him, though.

Though I don't think Short Round is as hated as Willie Scott, who I don't mind much either.

Captain Marvel gets a lot of undeserved hate. The film tone was identical to any other MCU movie that isn't Avengers or Captain america series. Some of those antis aren't even CBM fans, they hate Brie Larson and with her character being painted as the strongest superhero in the marvel universe really must have hurt their fragile ego.

Kylo Ren, aside from Adam's great performance, the character was hate-driven and remained conflicted throughout the trilogy, always trying to surpass his grandfather but never fully aware of his true potential.

Thankfully, I think she's become one of the most beloved. On the 70th anniversary DVD set I've got, the commentary has spliced recordings from cast & crew. She's such a ball of laughs & anecdotes. Definite recommendation for buffs.

Good call. Willie's nuisances have all but disappeared over time for me. If bad Hollywood movies/characters of the past 30yrs have helped, so be it. Unlike a Jar Jar, she & her silliness are never really pushing the story. She's mostly reactive to things, & honestly, I think Temple does need the levity - from her, Short Round, & Indy alike.

Yeah i agree with that, She really is not that bad, and i think a lot of the hate that some people had was more about the fact that they don`t like Brie Larson, so they will hate any character she plays. But also i think its wrong to portray it like its only men that hates Brie Larson and the movie Captain Marvel and character, because its not.

Well that goes to show that i don`t pay much attention to stuff like that. I am going to just change my answer to Jar Jar Binks than because i am pretty sure he is hated by many and i don`t mind Jar Jar.
