You must be young not to recognize Smokey Robinson. I should have posted a record cover but I’m addicted to gifs. Who doesn't know Smokey Robinson though? That's like having never seen Jaws or an episode of Who's The Boss. Wait...I keep forgetting I'm old and these are icons of another era. It's really a wake-up call to the passage of time, sort of like the realization my granddaughter will never see a payphone/phonebooth IRL.

There was a black/grey car in our neighborhood that was called Smokey. The neighbors across the street took care of it mostly. It lost an eye in a battle towards the last years of it's life. He was loved.

Dude, that's not an odd name for a dark gray cat. In fact, it's rather common. Or a black one (like the one I had). But not an orange one? (pls no Trump jokes)

My son and daughter used to shout “Mum, Dad’s listening to his Grandad music again” if I ever tried to play anything from that era.
