Anybody watching this show? I loved season 1 (I've read the books already) but I haven't watched any Season 2 episodes yet.

I haven't read the books, so I'm wondering if the show is following their storyline so far. There is a discussion board for The Expanse. Click on IMDBv2.0, Genres, Science Fiction, The Expanse.

Looks like things are getting pretty serious in Season 2. I'm ready for things to blow up between Mars and Earth.

Some great moments but not as good as the books in general...

I binge-watched season 1 on Netflix, and I loved it. I then bought the book series, and have read the first book so far. There have been some changes made from book to show, but nothing that has taken away from my enjoyment of both the show and the book. Very much looking forward to watching season 2, but will probably have to wait until it's available on Netflix here (which could take a while).

Just finished season 2. Season 1 was great, but this was just something else. Easily one of the best space sci-fi shows in years. Immersive, great acting, storytelling & character development. You care a lot about the characters, which unfortunately is something that only few shows can do. The space politics were very good: it was tense and it felt like all the choices they made had real consequences. I really love this show.

I finished season 2 a little while ago, and I'm still loving it. Very much looking forward to season 3.

I thought season 2 was much more enjoyable than season 1.

I haven't watched it yet, but the first episode of season 3 just premiered and received highly positive reviews (100% rotten tomatoes, 8.7 average rating).

I just watched the first episode and I loved it. The characters are very good and the story is fantastic. This is how shows or movies about space politics should be done. I never thought a tv show that has the UN politics as one of its main plot points would be thrilling to watch, but it is. All of these things make the world of The Expanse feel very realistic. I can't wait for the rest of the season.

I've just started to watch the long anticipated season 3. The best Sci-Fi show on the market right now. I don't like the leading male character, but Bobby and the deputy defense sceretary have really grown on me. At first I disliked them both...but during the show and their development they have become my favourites.

It might be old news to the most, but: Amazon Video then picked up a fourth season of the series in late May 2018.[1] variety.com/2018/tv/news/the-expanse-season-4-amazon-1202823280/I don't like Amazon, I have also stopped being a customer, but I'm still thankful for this support, and I will respond in kind by buying the blu-ray box when it is released.

Well season 3 ended last night. I thought it was going to be a 2 hour episode but it was only 1.5 hours. It was ok and could have been a series finale. I don't do amazon so I won't be seeing season 4 anytime soon.

Well season 3 ended last night. I thought it was going to be a 2 hour episode but it was only 1.5 hours. It was ok and could have been a series finale. I don't do amazon so I won't be seeing season 4 anytime soon. Me neither...but I'll watch. It were two episodes and thus 80+ minutes. And I liked it were much. Great ending, we saw why Drummer is the better captain, why Bobby has a heart of gold, I still dislike Holden. Anna was ok, it made sense to put her in. This TV reporter was also a nice seeing again. But the best thing is the outlook: as advanced the protomolecule is, it is totally confused and its creators were faced with a threat/opponent that was beyond their (and the protomolecules) means...maybe only because it doesn't understand the nature of the unknown "opponent"...just like Ashcroft was not evil but scared, confused and angry for something that the protomulecule (also not evil in nature) simply did to defend itself...and the Martians again (also not evil per se) acted for the same reason: lack of understanding. Still, - it's only my theory, and - such a mysterious and menacing opponent/threat out-there in the dark it something fascinating for me...especially if it proves to be multilayered without a black and white setting but with many shades of gray. Overall I was rather disappointed by Ashford and his men - and this scientist. What was this guy thinking to set off a nuke when the protomolecule was already in a freak out mode because of a simple hand grenade. It had already set off the process to annihilate the entire solar system. True, the didn't know it at this point, but they had witness how badly the protomolecule reacts on potential threats like the grenade...they lost many lives and many very wounded...setting off nukes it nothing that should be done easily. Ok, the writers need something to engage the pace, but this was a stupid move imho. On the other hand: when scientists are completely taken away by something they can by blindsided too and forget to care about the risks or consequences (=> Dr. Dresden) ...but this was Ashcrofts job - the captain of the Earth cruiser was not ok with it. Ashcroft was always thinking he was the better captain, and the show made it appear that Drummer was too soft on some things, too narrow minded on others...but it was Ashcroft who totally failed as captain (a stealing crew, shooting his own men, mutiny, almost killing every single being in the solar system because he was afraid and wanted retribution against a being that lacks the understanding for this concept and reacted only on human actions). Overall a geat show.

I have watched all available seasons. I think it is really good. But the first 8 episodes were a real snoozefest. But once it got past that, it took off.
