They will loosen a bit after may 15 Probably 11 May in the UK.
Boris is due to make an announcement on Monday and has twigged that folk in Britain are getting bored with all this kerfuffle. So he will start to ease back on the restrictions.

In my state (Washington), barber shops and hair salons won't be allowed to open until June 1 at the earliest. That'll make 4 months I've gone without a haircut...

@theoriginalpinky Did you ever find out what all the hullaballoo with the fireworks was about? I've had to start closing the window at night despite a beautiful, cool and lovely evening breeze because it allows percussion. Closing the windows and pulling the drapes at least allows a wee bit of baffling. PS: Bummer. How does one tag? It's not like it's planned, just random shoot-offs at any given time. Boredom?

Something else that was kind of coincidental to think about:
The City of London (Ontario) has already cancelled Ribfest, which takes place during the first weekend of August (a long weekend, but not a statutory holiday to all).
They have also already cancelled the Little League World Series, which takes place in the last week of August.
The other day, I thought....I now wonder if the Western Fair in London is going to be cancelled. It has taken place in the second week of September every year since 1868. That's right - EIGHTEEN Sixty-Eight.
The next night, there was an article on the news about other local fall fairs which take place in smaller towns.
We shall see.

My daughter's hapkido class starts again next week, I assume they will be doing individual work, not touching.

Evidently, some curbside pick-up service will come into place, beginning tomorrow. I don't need that for groceries, or cleaning, as we have nearby establishments that have been open, from the beginning.
I do need printer ink, and there's an "Office Depot," about a mile away. I'll explore that. I prefer to walk ... just to feel free.
I can't wait for hair salons to open. I'm beginning to look like Bette Davis' character in Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? I told a friend that I'm thinking of hacking away at it, myself. What I can't decide is whether I should drink a little wine ... for courage ... or, abstain in the interest of accuracy. It's a tough call.

www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/coronavirus-updates-texas-reports-single-highest-daily-rate-increase-of-infections/ar-BB14cpOY?ocid=spartanntpSee? This is what I mean. Texas was among the first states to ease the lockdowns and make a big deal over wanting their freedoms, not having to wear a mask, not wanting to be quarantined or self-isolate, wanting to open everything up, etc. In fact, in the news, for the past few days since they've made a big deal of opening things up, I've seen Texas reporting a bigger and bigger increase in COVID cases. It seems like every time I check the news, there's an update of even more cases, and yet Texans keep pushing for how they want things open more and more. I think I post this daily, but I also admit I'm losing track of time and days being isolated, and I'm also feeling confused when I read about all these deaths and infections, while also reading and seeing people gathering in large groups with no masks. It's like having a death wish or something.

They've started running buses, opened up barber shops, but still no libraries.

My friend lost his grandfather, cousin and sister in law to corona recently. all in nyc. so... better safe than sorry, am staying inside. I'm remaining overly cautious as well. They're opening things up around here as well, and people are acting as if nothing has happened, and gathering in large groups, very close together, no face masks, no social distancing. It makes me very uncomfortable because I feel like we're jumping the gun and we're going to have a second wave. I'm still wearing my mask, still carrying a spray bottle of alcohol with me and hand sanitizer gel and I wipe everything down before bringing it in my house. I see people who are behind barriers, but touching them?! Heeelllooooo? Is anyone home upstairs?
