You have done it again, tovaritch! Another great discovery on YouTube which I have missed. If it is half as good as Chukhray's Ballad of a Soldier, I shall be well happy. I just had a quick look and the print is good and the subtitles are clear. Another great compensation for not being able to watch DVDs at present. Many thanks. Keeping busy today london777 ! … I think The Forty-First it is a better film so glad you have found it , and & very to you .. I thought it might be more layered. I look forward to it. My birthday is on Monday. I shall be 80 (if the virus spares me until then). I shall be celebrating it self-isolating in my little apartment watching the stuff you have recommended. If there is no power outage (always a possibility on this dysfunctional republic). The temperature is forecast for "feels like" 100 Fahrenheit. Sweet!

London -- you created a Frankenstein monster here today: "It's alive .. It's Alive ... IT'S ALIVE!!" Indeed. And who is its first victim? Sorry guys, have to take a break now. To eat, shower, and rest my eyeballs. I have only read to halfway down page 6. Meanwhile, how about those fractions? Mickey Rourke?

Still lookin' for those gaps: Bat*21 (1988) Peter Markle Whoops! Just realized I stepped onto Matt's territory again (21 Grams -- 2003). Playing the numbers game on these mean streets is fraught with peril. Maybe I'll switch to selling ties or watches (naah, skip the watches: more numbers).

It would have been so convenient if someone had remade 1984 in 2010. I'll have to settle for 1984 (1956) Michael Anderson. They remade it in 1984 with John Hurt and Richard Burton. I think it is better than the Edmund O'Brien version.

1900 -- 1976 (Bernardo Bertolucci) It pains me to enter that stupid re-titling. The action of the film begins in 1901 and continues thru the 1940s. Nothing happens in 1900. It should have been "The 1900s" but if that is too clumsy, what is wrong with the original name Novecento? Americans manage to get their tongues round such fiendishly unpronounceable Italian words as Serpico. Is Novecento that much more difficult?

OK, I think I have finally caught up, and it is long past my bedtime.
How about mattgarth and Doghouse6 taking a day off tomorrow and see what the other peasants can come up with? There are still titles available. I can think of a few obvious ones.
