They may be using the year of the ceremony rather than the year of release IT IS THE YEAR OF THE CEREMONY BUT THERE ARE TWO DIFFERENT LISTS ---SEE ABOVE LINKS FOR SITES.

Kijii, I find THE PRODUCERS thing very confusing. I know that BONNIE AND CLYDE was released in 1967 and THE PRODUCERS, according to your site above, was released in 1968 (though imdb for some reason has it released in 1967 and then receiving the Oscar in 1969, which makes absolutely no sense!). I honestly think that mattgarth deserves the point, because he originally posted what I'm sure is the correct release date of 1968. So please pass give it to him. I'd feel much better about it. And whatever the heck is going on with imdb re: the release date is beyond me. Anyway, it was a great game. Lots of fun and very smart. Thanks for so much for highlighting the careers of the remarkable talents without whom narrative film would not exist. kijii THIS IS WHAT WIKIPEDiA SAID ABOUT THE PRODUCERS:HERE IS ANOTHER INTERESTING FACT ABOUT SCREENPLAY OSCARS. I THINK THERE ARE NOW TWO OSCARS AWARDED EVERY YEAR: ONE FOR BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY AND ANOTHER FOR BEST ADAPTED FROM ANOTHER MEDIUM. SINCE BROOKS WON HIS FOR ORIGINAL, THEREIN MAY LIE OUR CONFUSION.
