Whew, glad that second Covid-19 test is over, I hope I don't have to have another one. If they don't call me by Tuesday that means I'm negative again. Is the COV19 test because of the surgery?? I hope this operation goes wonderfully!! Yes, everyone who is having surgery at the surgery center must be tested and when I sign in, they will take my temperature. Only patients are allowed in the waiting room, they will call WKD when I'm ready to go home (about 3 hours). I won't be able to read for about a week after surgery - until I can get some strong reading glasses. That's the bad thing about cataract surgery, you can see distance ok but not close up without glasses. I have wonky vision right now, I can still read with my left eye, distance is ok because they popped the right lens out of my glasses.

WKM I took my daughter to emergency yesterday. She's doing well. The precautions were crazy! Only one parent in the ER (she has cerebral palsy ) I had to wait IN MY CAR! It was a pleasant day but our area can be 105 in the summer! Masks everywhere. I do think we are safe in medical facilities. Just not nursing homes. How do you read the computer? I pray all goes well

I'm in California but not the normal area. I'm in an agricultural area of Central California. 100 is normal in the summer. Her arm looks normal today. I think it was swollen from laying on it . The concern was a blood clot but they will 100 percent rule it out with more tests Thursxay. I can only imagine how anxious you are . And WKD. All my best! And thanks for the concern.

I'm feeling fine nuts, in a few hours I'll have my cataract surgery on my left eye. I plan to be eating pizza again by noon. Thanks. I won't be able to read until I at reading glasses, hopefully my eye doctor will sell me some tomorrow when I go for my check-up. I've been using my left eye for reading for the past 2 weeks. If you guys don't hear from me, it means I just didn't get reading glasses yet.

The Best to you, WKM.
I remember when my Mom had the two surgeries, a couple of weeks apart. That was many years ago, and the follow-up applications of various eye drops, at varying times of day, was dizzying.
Hopefully, by now, they have streamlined the process ... or, come up with an "APP," that would make it easier to figure out.
Love to the WKs.

I've had both my eyes done for cataracts some years ago. Months, not weeks, apart. Still had to do the multi-drop thing. And instead of buying reading glasses from the doctor, HE told me to go to the dollar store and get some magnifiers until my eyes settled down. That sounds like an awful lot of expense. AND the doctor nicked a blood vessel? Was he new???
Hope you're feeling better and that everything goes well. Thoughts from Canada.

AND the doctor nicked a blood vessel? Was he new??? Hope you're feeling better and that everything goes well. Thoughts from Canada. The surgeon that did the cataract surgery is the best in the area, a nicked blood vessel in the eye isn't a big deal, it healed in 5 days. When I fell and hit my head on concrete in March, I broke several blood vessels in both eyes and I had really bad black eyes, I even had to postpone my appointment with the specialist for 3 weeks until my black eyes healed enough for him to examine them and he had to wait until June to do the surgery because the surgery center was shut down for 2 months due to the pandemic. My right eye has healed and the left eye is doing well, I saw my regular eye doctor today and got reading glasses - I told him I refuse to shop at Dollar Tree or WalMart during the pandemic, too many maskless people coughing on everyone and spitting on the floor. The reading glasses were only $14.95. After my eyes have totally settled down, if I don't need bifocals, I'm going to get prescription reading glasses, I read a lot. I'm even thinking of having progressive bifocals with clear lenses on top and the prescription glass on the bottom. I wish they still made the half moon reading glasses.

Hi enigma: My surgery went well but afterward didn't this time. I told them I puked on the way home the first time so they gave me anti nausea medication this time. I wish I would have kept my mouth shut. I didn't puke but I felt terrible the rest of the day. I would have felt better if I puked. I think the oxygen makes me sick, all last night my body was making rumbling and groaning noises, I felt like I was full of gas bubbles. I'm better today. I don't understand why they have to give you oxygen for a 10 minute surgery. This time I was awake during the surgery and was listening to them talk about different things, I guess I slept through the first surgery. My left eye is already starting to recover. I've got reading glasses, I saw my regular eye doctor this morning and insisted on reading glasses, they are generic ones he sells on the counter. I'll get better ones when my eyes heal. I'm so glad it over and I hope I don't have to have any more Coivd-19 tests - yuck!!! Yes we did have pizza from Marcos. The extra large lasts us 2 days. Tomorrow is White Castles from the frozen (darn) and Caesar salad so I don't have to worry about cooking. Thanks.

Hi Nuts!!! I'm feeling fine but I have to get used to my "new vision", its as if I'm looking through a veil. I can't read the screen too well, I think I need stronger reading glasses. Its a pain to take the glasses off and then put them on. When the 3 months are over, I'm going to demand bifocals again even if it means the top of the glasses are just clear lens. Probably won't be here as much until my vision settles down.
