No way should Steve Burton have won for his work on Y&R.
Gina on Y&R is a good choice for lead actress.

Gina won twice for Guiding Light, as supporting actress. So this makes her third Emmy.

Yikes. GH cleans up for yet another year. At least the gorgeous and talented Kate Mansi snagged an Emmy; good for her.

Actually Steve Burton had a really good Emmy reel and yes was well deserved. His role on Y&R was no where near the action hero type role he played on GH.
Many felt Chloe Lanier should have won over Lexi Ainsworth but truthfully, all of Lanier's most powerful scenes came this year in 2017. Her reel basically consisted of drugging Sonny then pretending to sleep with him. Just not the power performances I think the Academy looks for. I think she will definitely nab an Emmy or two in her future though.

Thanks for the info. One reason I came to this board initially was because there were forums for British serials and I watch three of them each day (in fact the British soaps are more addicting than the American ones). But those forums were removed, so now I just use this board to talk about GH, Days and cancelled soaps.

I wonder why the British soaps forums were removed. I thought we could discuss Coronation Street.

I wonder why the British soaps forums were removed. I thought we could discuss Coronation Street. Yes, I've been wanting to discuss Corrie, Emmerdale and EastEnders. It's tough for me to pick a favorite because they're all so good. About 300 episodes of Corrie were recently added to Hulu, so you can watch everything back to January 2016. Lately the episodes with Tracy on the run with Rob and Amy have been must-see. Tracy's surrender to the police was powerful-- she'd gotten away with stuff for so long, to see her humiliated that way was interesting to watch. What a great actress.

Might want to check out this thread where the subject of Anna Lee's firing was brought up comparing her situation to Kirsten Storm's current one: www.themoviedb.org/tv/987-general-hospital/discuss/59166edac3a36842c1028f7f?page=3Sorry, I tried to private message you this but can't seem to get that going here on this forum.

What a great actress.I watch Corrie on the Canadian CBC and we're a couple of weeks behind. It's on my cable package because I live near the Canadian border. They don't show the other two you mentioned so I've never seen them. Tracy is a very interesting character. The actress is great I agree. I think everyone on that show is a great actor anyway. Watching Corrie makes me dread watching so much of Days right now because the writing is crap and the acting seems off more than usual. Hopefully the new writing will make it better but I doubt it will ever get to the level of Corrie. I started watching Y&R to see if it's any better than Days. It is.

Thanks soapwatch. I just clicked on the link and read the comments. I didn't realise people were still obsessed about Kirsten. That poor girl can't get any slack!

Since Coronation Street is now on Hulu, I've been able to go back and re-view some fave episodes. The show has the best characters, and usually the right blend of humour and melodrama.
