A great home like this but the weather is always cold year round: Or a home like this but the weather is nice year round: Which one would you choose?

The first one if there are warm clothes and possibilities to buy tickets to sunny places once in a while

I'd take the latter one, and not just for the weather.

I'd take the latter one, and not just for the weather. Are you saying if both these houses were in Florida you woud tak the second one?

I would have to pass on the great home because I really would not do well in year round cold weather.

The first one by far. It's a gorgeous home.
I adore the North, prefer the cold, hate the heat, and can't stand Florida's weather.
Yes, I have strange tastes!

I have to say the first one. I can't take the cold weather at all. I like to be all nice and warm since I'm used to it.

I'd go for the second one. The first one (house) isn't particularly to my taste. And, I see incredible possibilities in "fixing up," the other one. Moreover, I admit that I'm a weather wimp. I grew up in San Francisco. I tend to get cranky if the temperature goes about 15 degrees away from 65 (either way). And, I don't do snow! Actually, I love Boston and New York City, and think it would be wonderful to live there for a time. Alas, I know that I couldn't hack the summers or winters.

My problem with the house in picture one is it looks large and expensive to heat.

Cold weather would scuk not least of all that would surely mean shorter days/longer nights.
While I'd be eating & sleeping in a ramshackle, I could easily spend my days out & about in nature. Though I would not opt for miserable 100F temps.

I agree. Even though the house in the first picture is great I would rather be in good weather. I might not have as nice a house but I could spend alot of time outdoors doing things I like with the better weather.
