This show was so great. Has anyone watched it recently? I've been having a LM marathon and I have to say the earlier episodes are the best. Did anyone else grow up watching the show? Will you be bringing your kids up on it like I will?

I love that show. I haven't seen it since Disney Channel stopped airing it in the early morning hours last year. Love the look that the show has and the fashion. I still remember those early promos of Lizzie introducing herself and her family before the premiere.
One of my favorite moments is when Larry goes to the McGuire's backyard when Matt and Lanny open a little night club scene, and when he enters all the other regulars collectively say "Tudge!" in a welcoming fashion.

Right now I'm watching it through a streaming site online called primewire.ag. I have to arm my computer with adblockers and anti-viruses but it's worth it. That era of Disney Channel was the best era. The fashion was killer. The hair styles and outfits of Lizzie and her friends would start trends in my school.
I love all the sappy moments with Lizzie and her mom. I know it's nostalgia clouding my judgement but I just feel like there is not that same mother-daughter connection being represented on kids shows today.
The show's humor is also timeless. My husband and I can't help but laugh at the exaggerated sound effects in each episode. He rolls his eyes a lot but I know he enjoys the feel good humor of the show. I also stand by my statement that the earliest episodes are the best because they got away with some innuendos and young adult humor.

Have you checked youtube? I watched every episode last summer. My only complaint is some of the music, mostly season 2, was changed. I think season one was the best. I mean take rumors were the cheerleaders call out Lizzie by calling her ugly and loser. That was after she sent Miranda a message that spread around the school that Kate stuffs her bra.

For a few years I had this song stuck in my head and swore it was from Lizzie McGuire. I watched the Lizzie's boyfriend episode with Ronnie on YouTube, but didn't find what I was looking for. An entire year later I searched once again for the song and looked up the soundtrack info for the episode on the TV website. And whaddaya know, I found it! The song (from the original airing) is "Walk Me Home" by Mandy Moore and it was played when Lizzie had her first kiss. And it just so happens I OWN the song on a Lizzie McGuire CD.

There was another song when Lizzie goes on a date with Larry. It goes what's in the name of love. I think the backstreet boys sing it and it was replaced entirely by synthetic music.

Dontrocktheboat, when I try to find the episodes on youtube they are always either poor quality or they are cropped. I actually own a dvd with a few different episodes on it and I treasure that way too much I think Kate was a great villain because every girl had at least one 'Kate' in their lives while growing up. I really love when Kate and Lizzie get paired up to do a project together and they realize that they could be friends again. It's not meant to be at that time because Kate's cheerleader friends judge her for hanging out with a 'normie' and Lizzie's friends critisize her for even considering becoming friends with Kate again. The show was handing out life lessons all over the place. A lot of the messages were more like neon flashing lights but the ones that were subtle were charming and special.

Sheistheslayer what about the movie? I always enjoyed the closure of their friendship there. It felt like they really could be friends. I know some aren't find of it, because Gordo and Lizzie aren't together right away.
Also I get what you mean. One of my favorites is when Lizzie wants to be friends with her mom and when she made up with Miranda after thinking she stole lipstick.

I don't care for the movie. I think of it as a big screen rip-off of Mary-Kate & Ashley's When in Rome.

Honestly, it's been years since I've seen the movie and though I did see it 3 times in theaters (don't judge me!) I'm a bit fuzzy on all that happens. I remember I liked it because Gordo finally gets the girl and, yes, I did like that her and Kate ended on good terms. Kate is like the cautionary tale for girls that age too: 'If you're too worried about being cool you'll miss out on the fun others are having around you while being themselves.' or something like that.
OT: I loved When in Rome. I loved most of Mary Kate and Ashley's movies but that was probably just because of the cute boys in every movie.
Also, I'm nearing the end of the series this run-through and I had to skip the episode where Miranda deals with anorexia. I remember I waited a week for that new episode and I was so pissed Disney Channel had me watching a health class video instead of usual Lizzie hijinks for half an hour.

The Lizzie eating disorder story is half assed, looking at it today. I remember The Famous Jett Jackson doing a story like that guest starring Rachel McAdams of all people. I thought the end of that Lizzie episode was so cool though, when they shot that music video.

I hated it. Seriously could not stand Hilary Duff back then. Just annoyed the ever living hell out of me.

I can see how the humor and kooky characters may not be for everyone. For me I'm more of a fan of the first season as it felt natural and not all about the soft humor introduced later on.

I was neutral to the show (I preferred cartoons to tweencoms) but my brother was a big fan.

If you're interested, ABC Spark in Canada has started airing episodes of "Lizzie McGuire". IIRC, they air two episodes every weekday afternoon. Just not sure of the times.
As for the show, I enjoyed it. I still watch the DVDs that I have from time to time.
STILL a big fan of Hilary Duff. Friends of mine still rib on me for liking her. In the nearest city where I live, she was in concert at the big venue there. I went both times to see her.
Too bad nothing ever became of Ashlie Brillault, though.

Excellent show. Mostly due to Hillary Duff's performance. One of the best Disney shows ever.
