Not the first time this piece came on. Noodles meeting with Fat Moe in 1968, Noodles date with Deborah. But, damn, what a beautiful piece.

Did fantastic scoring for the Italian TV Mafia epic La Piovra, and some of the most memorable film scores of the last half century plus. RIP to one of the screen's more unique musical presences. The music for La Piovra is for me the best music for a TV series ever! He started scoring in season 2,the first one is by Riz Ortolani

Morricone's scorings of arcs 4 and 5 are, I think, amongst the most exciting of the series--but all of it is amazing. (BTW, good to see another Piovra fan here; I think it's possibly the best tv series ever, certainly one of the top five!)

Managed to get the first 4 seasons, even if the first one was so hard to find I have almost the entire series, acquired through the MHz website. Darn it all, they've now come out with a digitally remastered set of dvd's that look pretty sharp, so I may have to do it all again . Must have been awesome to catch it in Italy, where I understand the series had a huge popular impact.
