I can't breath with mine on. I know you are teasing me, but I am Semi-Serious... Here's an Extreme Strawman Type Example: A facemask manufacturing company accidentally uses asbestos instead of cotton in one of their production batches... Deadly right? And yes, next to impossible... But, how do we know that the facemasks, we bought to wear, are truly safe, and not contaminated? Kind of like, those peanut allergy warnings you see... " This food was made using equipment that also makes peanut based products"... Allergies, chemicals, poisons... It doesn't take much of anything, during any kind of an accident, to contaminate something. And home made masks? Many citizens are selling those to the public... I don't doubt their intentions, but are they sanitary and safe?

I haven't seen any face masks recalled, however there are some disposable face masks (like the regular blue surgical masks) but they're in black, and people have reported that black fibers have been in their nose, they suspect perhaps also in their sinuses, maybe even in their lungs, because after wearing them for extended periods, when blowing their nose, the mucous would have black fibers in it. I wear reusable ones that I wash, and have had no problems. I also wear regular disposable ones that are blue/white since this all started, and have never expelled any tinted mucous.

We have hundred degree weather and it is oppressive. I'm wearing the disposable ones so hopefully not made with asbestos! All your concerns are valid. I want a N95 mask. Home depot doesnt sell them to the public. We are not knowledgable about masks. Too many variables and too many home made ones. We need more info

Autumn mine is called GermX . Is that on there? Like admin asked? Why I have the same one! Moisturizing original hand sanitizer - kills 99.99% of germs. Kills germs in 15 seconds! Woo Hoo! I didn't see ours on the list, so I'm guessing we're okay. You can't breathe with a mask? I can't see! It fogs up my glasses. If I take my glasses off, I still can't see!!!

I don't recall any of these brands. I use Purell. My pharmacy and supermarket have been out of regular Purell since this all started. I've had to purchase off-brands from Amazon, so I was curious about these recalls, but I'm safe.

Adults have been poisoned because they drink the hand sanitizers for their "safe" alcohol content and in actuality it contained methanol.. Kids also have been sickened from both safe and unsafe versions because they occasionally drink dangerous things left within their reach by careless adults.

OT: my glasses have been fogging up just from the humidity, not even wearing a mask when I'm indoors at home!
But yes, my glasses do fog up sometimes depending on which masks I wear. If they come up very high, close to my eyes, that seems to be a "fogging factor".
As for ingesting, kids also lick their fingers and if we as parents wipe their hands with sanitizer, they may unwittingly ingest it that way. (Or of course, squirt it in their mouth, as kids will be kids) and as for some adults? Ya can't fix stoopid.

My mother who is a gynaecologist and is used to surgical masks says she feels dizzy in N95 masks after 15 minutes itself. I don't have that much experience of masks as even when I was in Mumbai, the grocery store was just below my flat so I didn't need to wear mask for more than 15 minutes but after 15 minutes even I found lack of oxygen. It's just terrible that we have to go through all this and we can't even breathe the free air anymore.

AJ I couldn't believe how poorly I feel with the mask!
