I'll go first. Cinemachinery: He's the right tool for the job. ErJen would win an Olympic gold medal in conspiracy theories. Arlon would win one in arguing with dictionaries.

I was a bit surprised when I saw this thread title with Erjen as its author. Then I entered the thread to read the OP, and I wasn't surprised anymore. It's love letter #50-something. I lost track on the old forum.

I like that Cody guy.
Reminds me of the three legged dog in 'The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou".
The dog was a good character and was also named Cody.

Most are enjoyable to have a conversation with when you can find some relatively common ground.

To Melvin: Yes. It's finding that relatively common ground that's the tough part. ![:-[](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/embarrassed.png)

Chas I like his choice of books and his quiet lurking Prog makes me laugh with his mercurial way when talking with imbeciles Jonesy is a gent Erj always provides me with a good eye roll when seeing his videos
In fact most poster are ok. Some are just damn obtuse and cruising for an argument because they have their own agenda but I tend to walk away from that wank fest now as it bores me.

Afeena was my favorite poster because she undeniably had an amazing ability to literally piss off almost everyone here whenever she made a post. It was rather amazing.
A true talent!

Expanding talking points is the key. Not focusing on one particular topic with anyone. Someone almost always has a similar interest.

maya55555 makes me feel like a genius.
If I'm ever having a day when I don't feel mentally sharp, I click on her profile and scroll through her last 20 posts or so.
Does the trick every time.
What a nice person she is.
