That sounds good! I was telling kls how I rarely cooked when single. Frozen food or take out. I was lazy! You beat me! I was a restaurant cook from 16 years old till I was 40 back in 1997. So I have quite a bit of knowledge in cooking. But I just tired of it so I do simple things now hehe I understand! Though you must have lots of skill

May be just the store that I frequent but we still have very little in the way of paper towels and Kleenex. We have the store brand of paper towels most often, which is fine with me, but little of the name brands. Still limited supply of dish washing soap, but dishwasher soap is stocked again. No Lysol sprays since this all started. Several different brands of hand sanitizers though. Everything else seems to be okay, but they still don't have my Brummel and Brown spread. I think they just gave up on ordering it. I do know that my grocery bill has almost doubled since this all started. Some is price increase and some is that I've stocked up on different things each week. I also shop for my mother and that has also been part of it.

Toilet paper only just became common on shelves a month ago but it's rough crappy paper like your cheap boss buys for work. No good brands like Charmin. Hand sanitizer became common around a month ago and then a bunch got recalled, lol, luckily the brand we bought didn't. Masks are common locally now but they are questionable chinese things.
Still can't buy disinfectant wipes, disinfectant sprays, most cleaning sprays, rubber gloves. Lumber is starting to become scarce and the price is going up.
Meat was never scarce here but the stores were selling brands I've never seen and the packaging and cuts were rough looking but tasted fine, limit was 2 of any meat product. We bought leg/thighs for 88 cents/lb yesterday, usually are $1.29ish. 93% lean ground beef is $4.99 - 6.99 lb for the store brands, it jumps up and down in price. Bananas have jumped 10-20 cents/lb. depending on the store.

80% ground beef is on special this week for $2.29 a pound. The first time I seen ground beef on special in months. When I buy ground beef which is rare, l generaly by 85% ground beef, maybe that will be next weeks' special. For a pot of chili.

Free range chicken today for $1.49 lb. Pre-covid it was about $3.49. Eggland's Best eggs were $3.49/dozen, store brand $1.99, free range $4.99 and up. Land o Lakes half and half, $3.49 quart.
Bleach, TP (but the isle was mostly empty), paper towels, no disinfectants. Six foot thing has kinda fallen by the wayside except for a few. People kept their distance most of the time but hard to do in a grocery store.

I was at the grocery store tonight about 7 clock there were about six people in there me and one other person wore mask. As for the employees there were about six of them to that I could see one was wearing a mask. I think people are getting tired of it In the county I live we've had 87 cases since the beginning. No deaths. The size of my county is about 10,000. We also had the county fair several weeks ago and there has been no spike in the amount of cases.

We go every year but it was canceled this year. Made me sad My county is over half a million. We've had over 100 deaths. I can see why your county feels as it does. Martin you are lucky! A grocery store with so few shoppers!

144K in my state, 12,600 in my county, 1.5% death rate. State Fair was cancelled. School in classroom was going to start on time but that changed, it's now distance learning.

Btw
My problem when I started this thread was 'no cream of wheat nor oatmeal'
This morning the store was full of both.
Just a glitch I suppose.

We have Cream of Wheat but only regular and maple brown sugar, no chocolate. The stores were out of Le Sueur peas for about 2 months. Same with Vanilla Coke. The grocery store JUST got powdered milk in and they sold out back in March.

Dollar Tree used to have 3-packs of that, then they quit getting it back in November, and it was one thing my 101 year old grandmother liked, so now I get the plain one and put cinnamon sugar in it for her. Every time I go I still look to see if they get it back in.

I'm still seeing a shortage of paper towels, liquid soap, Lysol Spray and canned soup.

I just answered Nutsberry : our PC died on July 18th, we waited until last week to buy a new one (virus was spiking here), we picked it up from Best Buy yesterday. WKD was provided with a company computer but we could not use it for personal stuff. Glad to be back.
