When I really enjoy a movie I usually check who the director is and watch all of his/her films. That doesn't mean that all of their films are masterpieces just that I will want to appreciate their full body of work
some of my absolute favourites in no definitive order are...
Spielberg Scorsese Leone Ridley Scott Eastwood

Jerkpersonally i think Ridley Scott's brother Tony Scott is overall better as when i look at the movies i score a 7 or higher from each director Tony is clearly ahead in my book. Tony Scott... 1.Spy Game (2001) - 9/10 (within my Top 29 movies. also, my favorite Brad Pitt/Robert Redford movie.) 2.The Last Boy Scout (1991) - 8/10 (within my Top 62 movies. one of Bruce Willis best movies to.) 3.Top Gun (1986) - 7-7.5/10 (not much outside of my Top 109 movies) 4.Deja Vu (2006) - 6.5-7/10 (within my Top 199 movies) Ridley Scott... 1.Gladiator - 8/10 (within my Top 62 movies) 2.American Gangster - 6.5-7/10 (within my Top 199 movies) but with that said... looking at the movies from each director, i won't be surprised if you use IMDb for the measuring stick, that i am in the minority.
