One of the most purely entertaining movies of 2019 imo. Excellent style, very clever script.
I had no idea who done it until the ending. On top of that it has a great cast and all of the characters have their own distinct personalities, which makes it very fun to watch the actors play these characters.
I hope to see more of these movies, with Daniel Craig returning as the detective.

One of my favorites of last year. I personally loved the script and the cast is a lot of fun, plus the movie is just very entertaining overall.

Nah, dude. Nothing was even remotely believable in the movie, especially the will holding up in court.
And Daniel Craig's Southern accent was ridiculous, he sounded like Foghorn Leghorn. 
It doesn't need to be believable. That is the fun about movies, especially movies as self-aware as Knives Out. The movie is very dark comedy, so the "ridiculous" southern accent fits. I always find it amusing when people just say stuff and then somehow think the other person is going to all of a sudden agree. You basically just did that. You stated stuff and I disagree with it and then you just stated more stuff. That gets you nowhere. I see the movie in a completely different way than you and apparently so do most people.

Do you happen to lean to the political right and or hate The Last Jedi? As someone who likes KO, I’ve come to be more understanding of the people who strongly dislike TLJ. Parts of it kind of do come across as Rian Johnson displaying contempt for his audience. Actually, I kind of get that from KO out as well, but I think it works better in that case than it does with TLJ. |

It wasn’t bad. Unfortunately it couldn’t decide whether it wanted to be a straight-up spoof or a genuine murder mystery with humour, and the performances ranged from bizarre (Craig) to catatonic (Evans) via grotesque (Collette). Christopher Plummer added some class and it was never less than watchable. 5/10

It’s not bad. The buildup is really good, then it slows down and just feels empty by the end.
I mentioned in my review that this is one of the few mysteries where there’s less to it than meets the eye, not more.

I don't think bending formula equals contempt, especially compared to sticking the most hated elements of your subsequent movies into the ones people actually like (gungans and "Noooo!" in the SE dvds) and brainlessly rehashing the same things (TFA, TRoS). People want to project hatred on Johnson because he didn't show enough patience toward bigots chasing his actresses off the internet, but all I see in TLJ is an attempt at taking a 40 year old franchise in a slightly new direction.

Fun movie which I enjoyed even more the second time.
The overtly political subtext doesn't overwhelm the entertainment value. 7.5/10

I loved it. As a huge mystery fan I thought it was fabulous. My favourite movie of 2019.

I didn't love it. So much expositional hand holding the entire way. Like how Inception did. Films with such high concepts, alas afraid of losing the viewer for more than 40 seconds.

8/10 It's not even a "whodunnit" like as advertised because the movie tells you what happened in no time at all That's the point. Daniel Craig's Southern accent was ridiculous, he sounded like Foghorn Leghorn. Again, that's the point. Ransom even calls him that at one point. I have no clue what you guys are talking about with The Last Jedi. Lots of people online say negative things about this movie just because they didn't like Rian Johnson's previous directorial effort. Good luck finding a public thread/comments section on any platform where the conversation doesn't turn into a debate about T.L.J. So much expositional hand holding the entire way. To be fair, it's a staple of the genre. |

The lead actress was a boring block of wood with 1 expression on her face for the entire movie. The plot itself was entertaining enough but this isnt something id watch again.
