Add that to the list of things that make me think the movie might have the entire Justice League (minus Cyborg) in it. That would be a bad thing?

Of course he does but do his employers think the same? That's what should be spoken about here.

Maybe DCEU needs to try some cosmic stuff like Marvel. I'm not saying Superman needs to fly through a black hole or save dying stars, yet let's stop with the saving kids from runaway tractors for a long while.

He's usually fighting huge cosmic threats, not small-town occurrences.

There's people who seem to want to do something with Superman. Like Matthew Vaughn or Christopher McQuarrie and Patty Jenkins, but WB doesn't seem interested.

If I understand what Grace Randolph is saying here, it seems Cavill Superman and Batfleck are getting replaced by Supergirl and Batgirl as of The Flash. At least Affleck gets to appear one more time as Batman. Cavill doesn't even get that much as they'll supposedly only use old footage of him. I don't understand why DC/WB are so keen to throw away Superman. They're more willing to make a Peacemaker or Blue Beetle movie rather than MOS2. WHY???

I guess because his previous outings were so divisive with critics and split the fandom. That’s true but WB acts like they’re unable to hire different directors and writers for a new movie.

That used to be the reasoning I went with as well... up until the time they made SS2 and greenlit WW3. Because while I don't consider MOS to be a masterpiece, it was still way better than SS and WW2.

So basically DC is going to be a mess for another decade. At least we’re getting an excellent new Batman reboot soon.

Talking to Collider, Reeves was asked if Superman existed in his Bat-Verse or, if not, how he could be introduced. Reeves went on to explain that his take on The Batman (as well as Cloverfield and his POTA films) was to be as "grounded as possible" by focusing on only one fantastical element to have everything else revolve around so that it could "feel emotionally real and to make everything feel very believable." The director said that the introduction of an alien-like Superman would be a "shock" to that universe. The only way he could potentially make something like that work would be to shift the one fantastical element to be about the introduction of a super-powered being, such as Superman, rather than simply have him show up in this "practical, believable version" of Batman. Reeves says that if the challenge presented itself, he'd ultimately have to do it through the same lens as The Batman. Here's his full quote: “… Look, we should be so lucky that this is a world that people embrace and that they say, oh my God, we want to see what would happen when those things collide. I think if that challenge ever presents itself, it would be an exciting one to explore, but I'd have to try and do it through this lens. You know what I mean? And that is absolutely right, that at the moment, to me, this world is the place that I want to focus.” screenrant.com/the-batman-movie-superman-introduction-how-matt-reeves-response/
