Belongs on soapbox and he could use some of the soap from the box by the sound of it. As someone who is prone to dandruff if I'm not careful I'd say avoid soap and use a medicated shampoo. I use Head and Shoulders and nowadays the only thing flaky about me is my mind.

I wonder what would happen if I just used regular shampoo. Might try it. Lol

Lol I forgot to pack my Head and Shoulders when I went to Australia and soon became a walking snowstorm but I can get away with it for very short periods.

I've seen it autumn. Is that like head and shoulders? I can go a week without washing my hair. But as a teen I had to shampoo daily T-Gel is stronger. It uses pine tar. It stanks nasty. Peeyoo. Head & Shoulders at least smells nice. I like the natural smell of people I'm close to, so I get that. But I think once we get greasy and flaky it's time to hit the showers. Even if it's to use an unscented product. We rely on pheromones to choose a mate so covering that up with fragrance isn't helpful. So I do get where ebony is coming from. But I still use Head & Shoulders every third shampoo or so, and then Aussie or Revlon shampoo the rest of the time.

I've been home for a long time so staying put (covid) isn't a big deal. But you traveled lots

My husband started using a new deodorant (covid related shortage) and I hate the smell. Just isn't right! I hear ya. Believe it or not, I try very hard to stick to two brands. For an antiperspirant, I stick to Mitchem (especially hot summer days). And if I want to give my armpits a break from aluminum, I stick to deodorant only, and I like Old Spice (original only). Any time I've veered off and gone to other brands, I've ended up with rashes, or a stuffy nose because they're too perfume-y smelling (I don't like that), or white stains on my clothing. I'm one of those who's learned: Stick with the original. Every time I try something new because it sounds fancy, I'm just never happy with it. I've tried new and natural products to be cleaner and have less chemicals, but they just don't work. As for the covid issue, that seems to be a hit or miss with having an impact on how it's affected our deodorant/antiperspirant availability. We're still not stocked up on basics like toilet paper, alcohol, paper towel, hand sanitizer, etc., though.... *sigh*

Been exploring London quite a bit lately but had to stop during the shutdown.

I understand your hesitancy to try new smells. Lol

For y'all with dandruff, I have a scaly scalp and this helps. You can put it on your scalp and leave it overnight then wash it out the next day

I take a shower daily which triggers my skin conditions so I need to use emollient creams (at the very least). Sounds like this dude needs to take a long, hot bath and wash, not thrash locally or rub-a-dub.
