A classic, and one of my favorites all-time. I give a 10/10 for the great and memorable episodes, although it must be said that there were some real stinkers.

Overall, a wonderful show, original and unique. It falls short of 10,--I gave it a 9--due to too many preachy, tendentious and just plain mediocre episodes. The high concept side of the series is brilliant. As with dang near all classic TV shows it falls short of "absolute greatness" because it's a TV show and not a movie. In the days when TV series ran about 39 episodes per season it was (understandably) impossible to known one out of the ballpark every time.

I use to really love this show. Seems very dated now.

10/10 pretty forward and intricate plot thinking for it's time to come up with so many twisted story lines.

It's a definite vote of 10 for me here ! I never tire of this memorable classic show and still look forward to watching it on TV twice a year also ( and of course any time on DVD too ) . Thanks barkingbaphomet for your subject post .

Remember the one where the guy wakes up, and he's the same - but everyone else is different? I love that one.

Such a great series that many have tried to emulate or duplicate but none have been as good. One of the truly great tv series. 10/10

shows like this have to be done in black and white, color takes away psychological atmosphere

shows like this have to be done in black and white, color takes away psychological atmosphere Agreed! Plus I HATE and DETEST colorization anyway. Just like CGI it too hasn't been fully-perfected yet. However, once CGI is perfected I'll accept it. Colorization I'll NEVER accept EVEN when it is perfected.

I can appreciate that some people find the TZ dated. A matter of age maybe. I find it nostalgic, but then I grew up with the show when it was first run. Tonight I watched The Passersby, a story set at the end of the Civil War featuring soldiers marching down a foggy road going nowhere in particular. Or are they? It was a sad, beautiful tale, very stylized and deliberately unrealistic.TV today is so different.
The Zone featured an introduction and even featured closing remarks, so typical of anthology series of its time. Now shows begin much faster, more in media res, with things happening left and read. People speak in a more in your face hip manner now,--no nonsense, right to the point, with scarcely any room for niceties--while series like the TZ and Hitchcock shows must look downright Victorian by comparison.

10/10. The milestone by which all other sci-fi and anthology series are judged. A true example of just how good TV can be.

Which two IMBECILES rated this a 4 and a 1? They're bad men. Very bad men! I just wished them into the cornield.
