Which two IMBECILES rated this a 4 and a 1? They're bad men. Very bad men! I just wished them into the cornield. I'm sending them to Room 22.

10/10. Extremely entertaining and had really good messages that are still relevant today.

It's good, and I know it's bad that I prefer the 80's version. It's cheesier and more bizarre and I like that kind of stuff.

8/10.
1 point removed for preachiness (though sometimes that is what I liked best about it) and another point for the desire for a shock ending because it sometimes hampered the storytelling. Case in point, PERSON OR PERSONS UNKNOWN--interesting concept but I think the ending, while clever, was just too frustrating. Same with the one involving the dummy and Cliff Robertson. There's no redemption or understanding or closure. Just a negative (if Robertson had been a jerk it would have been different but he was not so the ending is just a downer for the sake of a downer).
The best episodes have more connective tissue. Like THE LITTLE PEOPLE. Or TO SERVE MAN. A few can work with just the surprise ending (like THE INVADERS).

Anthology show, so it's really impossible to give an extreme grade of 9 or 10, or 1 or 2.
Most of the shows were iconic and very good, though none were what I would call super classic.
Most were really good. The Billy Mummy one, the William Shatner one, the outer space ones were usually the best.
A few were really hateful and dragged this down, though. A couple of really sick shows drove my rating of this down to 6/10
The two worst were the "control freak shows" that today's control freak geeks probably love the most. One is where a dying man plays God by forcing his creepy relations to wear masks that disfigure them for his sadistic pleasure, and the "objective characters" empathize with this human monster. No Christian can enjoy this "condemnation" show.
Another was one where some British sounding snob has trouble with machines, and the machines kill him. Sure, he's irritating, but the condemnation is totally unjustified.
These "preachy" ones were 1/10 hate mongering shows.
A few others were kind of dull, but overall, the shows were very good.

10/10. Not every second of every show was genius but I can only think of 1 show I'd rank higher overall.

72.55% of voters have rated The Twilight Zone a 10! Can any other show do that?

shows like this have to be done in black and white, color takes away psychological atmosphere I ended up watching a lot of this on the New Year's marathon and I don't see how they can ever duplicate the look and feel of this show.
Not to mention the actors. So many great actors, many of them character actors, who delivered extraordinary performances.
And Rod Serling. He is a unique presence to the show.
It's about as close to perfect as any tv show I have seen.
