It's called Islam. That's what it is and that's what I'm calling it I had a few other things I wanted to post, but exercised self-restraint. At some point I wonder if there's going to be a vegetable rights organization and we're going to have stop calling yellow peppers "yellow peppers" because it has some connotations that are unpleasant. The movement will demand they be called "Sunshine Peppers" from now on. Just wait, it'll happen. You'll see. Yeah me too I believe it too. College kids brainstorm about this kind of stuff and when they think of things like this they feel like they discovered gold.

It's probably nothing more than him being excited to meet someone from the same place. Wait until they're having sleepovers to start worrying.

some posters on the politics board, and people having political discussions in general, avoid calling it by name A rose by any other name.... Did the religion of Islam officially and legally change their name? This is too weird. I'll bow out, and I might accidentally make some accidental faux pas, because this seems all too excessive and bizarre to avoid simply calling a religion by its name and saying what it is. I mean, she's a Muslim, and I suspect, unless she herself has some sort of identification problem with the word or embarrassment, then neither should anyone else. k it was a bad idea to use political jargon in a non-political discussion. she obscures her arabic-derived name though and goes by something spanish so i suspect maybe she rejects the identity she was born with.
