Greatest trilogy of the 80s. The first and third film are flawless and the second - while somewhat dated due to the OTT 2015 material - has a lot of fun with a neat parallel universe concept.
I've watched snippets of them all years, but the last time I watched them all in full may well have been as far back as 2001.

Love the first one. I loved the 2nd one at the time but after rewatching it about 5 years ago it came off as too silly and gimmicky. I couldn't take it seriously. 3rd one was pretty good.

I love the first BTTF and it is pretty much flawless 9/10 As for the sequels, I really don’t care for them at all. Too stupid! 5/10 for both. what did you find stupid do you remember exactly? I agree it does not compare (in novelty or tightness) to the first one but I simply fell in love with the characters too much to let that bother me.

Interesting, I actually thoughts the second one presented some more interesting concepts. But I agree there were some gimmicks I wasnt fond of and later learned why they were there (Marty's father - they dindt have the right actor and Jennifer was only there cause she was in the last scene of the first one so they were really just stuck with her which kinda showed). I am glad we all agree the first one is a bloody masterpiece!!

I am glad we all agree the first one is a bloody masterpiece!! It didn't help how over the top they were in their depiction of the future. Almost Similar to when I was in the 2nd grade and they asked us in school what it would be like in the year 2,000 and we all thought people would be flying in space ships to get to work. Not that any movie should be expected to accurately predict the future, but that was partly the reason it aged so poorly for me in addition to cartoonishness of some of the characters and events. But yes that first one was amazing and will always hold up for me. I love movies and shows about time travel in general and this one was tops

But yes that first one was amazing and will always hold up for me. I love movies and shows about time travel in general and this one was tops Although under scrutiny, the science behind the time travel is confounded. The concept of how time really works was quite trite and simplistic.
If Marty set the DeLorean time machine to go back several minutes earlier so he could warn Doc, when he arrived back in the future present, he was witnessing himself from the original timeline and saw himself go into the past. When this happened, the Marty that had altered the past was still the same Marty upon arrival with the 'original' timeline memory of his life. Any changes he then witnessed were external to his memory and not registered. As a time traveler and changing the dynamic of his parents relationship in the past, why would he not have memory of the new Marty in this instance of time catching up when he witnessed himself disappear? That instance would have created a new paradox for his life and not be separate from himself.
Those are good points that I had not considered. I should have since I've watched enough shows about it. Except that tv show from the 60's. I want to watch that

I want to watch that Also, when Marty arrived back earlier in his present time the mall had a name change, due to the pine he ran over when he first arrived in the 50's. Twin Pines to Lone Pine. Things had already changed, so the Marty he was then witnessing with Doc in the carpark would have been the new timeline Marty not the old one. Unless one could claim he lost his new memory experience by not going back right on the same mark, but if time coalesces or folds, then it wouldn't make any difference. The Marty he witnessed going back, was not the same Marty he was. This would have created another paradox. You should've been a consultant for the movie

I see your point, but what if Marty that he saw (for the 1 minute before he went back to the fifties) WAS changed, but it was in a way that was not apparent on his look and would not have deterred him from trying to help Doc. Which to me makes sense, because I believe his main changes would be from his parents having confidence, which would perhaps give him more confidence but wouldnt really change his relationship with the Doc. No? so this part didnt bother me.

it's been a while. I bought The 4k set. I tried to watch the first one but it was acting up due to finger prints on the recorded side of the disc. I looked up what to clean a disc with and i mis-read it and accidentally cleaned it with something I shouldn't have. I think the disc is ok but I keep forgetting to watch it or get caught up playing a game I picked this up at Walmart.
